Activities at Werrington Lodge Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Royal Wedding Celebrations

Norris and Gwyneth enjoyed watching the Royal Wedding with others. Norris is a resident on our Memory Lane unit, and him & Gwyneth usually go to London to watch royal weddings themselves, but they couldn't this time, sadly. So, we made a day of it at the home and invited lots others to come and watch the ceremony right here at Werrington Lodge.

Eid Celebrations

Residents enjoyed an afternoon of company and cakes from the local community whilst celebrating Eid.

Elvis is in the Building

The 'King of Rock 'n' Roll' himself joined us for a singalong, which residents really enjoyed,

Easter Celebrations

Resident, James, made an Easter bonnet in preparation for Easter. Resident, Percy, and family enjoyed some hot cross buns and chocolate eggs from the Easter Bunny, which staff seemed to love giving cuddles to.

Santa Has Come to Town

Santa Has Come to Town

Santa Claus himself visited the home on Christmas Eve and residents enjoyed meeting him.

Tai Chi

At the beginning of 2017, we were approached by Action for Elders; as a result, we put forward a tender to be excepted for funding which would provide residents with 6 months of free exercise sessions and the chance for others in the community to join us weekly.

Well, we were accepted and our tai chi sessions started in early November. They are run by an ex-UK champion and have proved popular with residents and loved ones.
