Activities at Werrington Lodge Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Gunthorpe Methodist Church Choir

The choir from Gunthorpe Methodist Church are very popular here at Werrington Lodge with both staff and residents. We had a wonderful time singing along with the choir and we can't wait for their next visit.

Out & About

Margaret and Dorothy enjoyed a walk around the local cathedral and rounded off the afternoon with some coffee and cake afterwards.

Margaret used to volunteer as a guide around the cathedral and it was lovely to see that other volunteers still remembered her – and Margaret spent some time talking to them.

Dorothy also has connections to the cathedral, as she used to be in the choir, so she spent some time reminiscing about this.

Remembrance Day Raffle

Remembrance Day Raffle

We raffled a hamper as part of our celebrations for the centenary of the end of World War 1. We decided to donate all monies to SSAFA, which has been serving the Armed Forces community for more than 130 years. They focus on supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families with practical, emotional and financial support.

Pictured here is Linda Smith, who volunteers for SSAFA, and has been helped by them in the past. Linda is married to Tony Smith, a resident here at Werrington Lodge. She is very supportive of the home and it was nice to give something back.

Handing over the £100 is Julie Scott, our Deputy Manager.

Lest We Forget
