Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home

 VE Day Celebrations

The Wingfield celebrated 75th years of VE DAY. Our home was filled with music, sweet treats and ice cream. Our residents joined in 3 o’clock nation toast in the garden. We are delighted and we are blessed with a very good weather on that day.

Wingfield Enjoyed Easter Celebrations

Despite of the unprecedented situation, our residents enjoyed making the most of Easter through Easter bonnet making, hot cross bun tasting and Easter egg hunting.

Each of our residents received Easter egg as well. Due to fortunate weather most of our residents enjoyed spending time in the garden to socialise.

Pen-Pal Friends

Residents are overwhelmed with all the cards, posters and inspirational stories they received from local schools and children. It gave extra joy for our residents. It is really remarkable especially with this current crisis. Thank you.

Baking Club

Our residents are always looking forward for enjoyable Monday afternoon especially for the bakers. The emphasis of Baking Club is to support each other who love to bake.

It gave a chance to our residents to be creative. Weighing, mixing and decorating brought back fond memories of baking for our residents.

Wingfield Go Wild

We were recently visited by Tropical Discovery. It has been noticeable that interacting with animals causes elevation to mood and increased energy levels, as well as promoting social behaviour to our residents. It is very rewarding to observe residents reactions with animals large or small including reptiles and insects.

Different animals bring different textures and personalities to the sessions. Animal Therapy was shown specifically decrease distressing behaviour to our residents.

Toddler Group Performs at the Lodge

We all love the visits of Maranatha Toddler Music Melody Makers group, lots of singing, clapping and laughter filled the room. The group offered a ball parachute playing which helps in improving strength and agility to our residents. Residents have fun with tea party after the performance.
