Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home

Birthdays in the visiting suite

The homes newly installed visiting suite, means not only do residents get to spend time with their loved ones over the winter period. It means celebrations can happen now too. It was lovely to watch this family celebrating a special birthday.

Christmas Garden Entertainment

Residents and staff we treated to an afternoon of live entertainment. Everyone was safe inside and watching from the garden room and the windows. As the musicians from Wiltshire rural music played their favourite Christmas songs.

Giant Scrabble afternoon

The residents really enjoy puzzles and games. So what better fun than this giant Scrabble board. It means that everyone can enjoy it together and make an afternoon of it. Followed by afternoon tea by the fire.

Homemade Advent Calendars

The residents wanted something different and unique this year as their countdown to Christmas so they decided to get crafty and make their own. Simple, effective and very colourful. Each one has a little surprise inside too.

Thanksgiving Zoom Quiz

We were joined virtually for a really fun afternoon Zooming. We are embracing our new virtual world, and we are really enjoying it. We are lucky enough to have some volunteers that dedicate their time to spend with our residents. As they are unable to come in at the moment. They didn't want to miss out still spending time with them and what better way to do it. We cant wait for the next one.

Making friends.

Residents really enjoy visits from a local cat Scampi. Although he doesn't live at the Wingfield, its where he likes to spend most of his days. You can usually find him curled up asleep under a desk or on a chair somewhere. His owners know exactly where to find him when he doesn't come home. They often pop round to pick him up for his tea.
