At The Wingfield Care Home, we provide 24-hour nursing and residential care for older people in need of support, including those with dementia. Our skilled team are dedicated to ensuring each resident has the best quality of life, that independence is promoted, life skills are maintained and care is provided with dignity.
Dementia Care
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Our home is situated in the heart of Trowbridge, just on the River Bliss in the West Country. Located close to the community with access to local amenities, the home is ideal for those wanting to retain as much independence as possible. The care we provide is entirely focused around a person-centred approach, which enables freedom of choice, and individually tailored care plans to suit the resident rather than a routine. Staff are highly trained to not only provide an excellent, caring environment, but they also have a range of activities that make for an excellent social environment, including regular music therapy.
Our Memory Lane community specialises in innovative dementia care, ensuring that every resident can thrive in an environment designed to stimulate and enrich their lives, whilst giving families peace of mind and security. Our person-centered team are experienced in responding to the challenges that dementia presents, at whichever stage of the journey.

Hello. My name is Lesley and I am the General Manager at The Wingfield. Welcome to our website!
I have worked in the health industry for 16 years now and was the Clinical Development Nurse before becoming the General Manager at The Wingfield. I very much have a hands on approach so you may see me working the floor as knowing all the residents personally is key.

Our response to our latest inspection
In our CQC inspection which took place in the middle of 2021, we received 2 'Good' ratings for Effective and Caring. A number of changes have already been actioned and positive improvements have been made.
