The Wingfield Care Home in Trowbridge
At The Wingfield Care Home, 24-hour nursing and residential care is provided for older people in need of support, including those living with dementia.
The Wingfield Care Home, located close to the local community, is just a stone's throw away from the River Biss in the outskirts of the historic market town of Trowbridge.
The highly trained and qualified staff support all individuals with each and every element of their care plans to ensure all needs are met. The teams pride themselves in caring for their residents using individually tailored care plans, working closely with health care professionals.
Activities at The Wingfield are designed to enhance the wellbeing of residents and celebrate life. Offering interaction and stimulation through regular musical activity, yoga sessions, outings in the minibus, scrabble groups, art classes, flower arranging, external performers and themed days.
Residential Care
Our luxurious and comfortable facilities are combined with highly trained staff to ensure that each and every individual is given superior attention. Our 24-hour care is provided in a warm and welcoming environment, with delicious meals and daily activities, including a choice of therapeutic approaches.
Activities are key to the residents wellbeing and as such we believe in providing a wide range of daily activities to ensure our residents are engaged, active and celebrating life here at The Wingfield. Whether a resident enjoys art, live music, gardening, flower arranging or trips out, it is all undertaken to ensure our resident’s time here is enjoyable and relaxing.
It is our philosophy that The Wingfield exists for the people we support, and life does not stop because the individual needs care.
Dementia Care
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Our home is situated in the heart of Trowbridge, just on the River Bliss in the West Country. Located close to the community with access to local amenities, the home is ideal for those wanting to retain as much independence as possible. Hello. My name is Ansitha, and I am the general manager here at The Wingfield. Welcome to our website.
I have been a registered nurse since 2012, completing my nurse training in Kerala, India. I have extensive experience in care home settings. I strive to continually improve the quality of service we provide with an absolute focus on person centred care. I am here to offer support to the residents, their families and the team.
I see Wingfield as being a home that can support every stage of later life, we are in the unique position of having two separate homes. For anyone considering care for a loved one our doors are always open for you to visit and meet the team.
