Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Special Birthday Celebrations

Birthday celebrations were in full swing for this lovely lady. She had a day of being pampered, preened and totally spoilt. The chef made a beautiful birthday cake & she celebrated with fun, laughter, fizz. She finished the day with cheese & biscuits whilst curled up watching her favourite movie.

Making Poppies for Remembrance Sunday

Everyone got involved and enjoyed an afternoon of arts made these lovely poppies for display around the home. Residents a Zoom church service and afternoon tea. As we remembered those that fought so hard for our freedom.

Wear it Pink

Today we wore it pink! In honour of Breast Cancer Research. Staff and residents decorated the home and wore something pink. Everyone had a fabulous afternoon filled with fun laughter and we also raised some money for their much needed research.

Harvest Festival Bread Making

With the Harvest Festival season upon us, we always give thanks for the harvest and the food that has been brought in and stored for the winter months ahead. Our residents have an amazing time decorating our Harvest table and baking bread rolls for everyone to share.

Community Links for Grandparents Day

Gail the General Manager recently hand delivered lots of colour your own cards to the local school and nursery. This was to help them celebrate Grandparents day. We understand how difficult things are at the moment and that some of these children are unable to visit older loved ones at the moment. The children had great fun in colouring them in and hopefully brightening someone's day.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

The Wingfield hosted fun day and a range of activities to raise money for Macmillan's World Biggest Coffee Morning, from guessing the weight of the cake, to how many teabags in the jar and our residents helped bake lovely cake's to support the event. We all enjoyed the coffee morning and we raised £40.00 that has been donated to Macmillan.
