Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home

Staying Connected

Our residents have the privilege of being connect with their loved ones face-to-face during the coronavirus lockdown through video chat. It puts smile on their faces and makes a huge positive impact on their well-being.

Reptile Therapy

Our residents were thrilled with the visit of pet snakes. It was a noticeable change for our residents after holding them, and it made them feel better and relaxed. It was a very enjoyable experience!

Reading Club

Our residents really are making the most of the good weather and are enjoying our lovely garden. They enjoyed reading and discussing our daily sparkle and they loved answering all the quizzes. It is such a privilege after our British winter.

Ice Cream Afternoon

Summer means ice cream. Ice cream is good for stimulating our brains. Our residents enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon in the garden with some rock and roll music and ice cream as tasty treats!

Carers Week

We raised our voices and let everyone know that carers deserve to be recognised for the vital contribution they make. Our residents made a 'Carer Sruvival Kit' that we gave out to all of our carers. We offered them some cakes and chocolates too. Thank you to all our carers who worked so hard in this pandemic situation.

May Celebrated 108th Birthday at Wingfield

May celebrated her 108th Birthday in our home. We are very delighted cause students from St. John Catholic school prepared some paper flowers, cards and bunting for May.

May felt so honoured and grateful for the good gestures of the students. Even though May can’t celebrate it with her family, cause of the current crisis she had so much fun with her friends in our home. May is our eldest resident and wishing her for more great years to come.
