The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Clare Sinclair

General Manager

Hi, my name is Clare and I am the General Manager here at Kingfisher Lodge. Welcome to our website!

Before joining Barchester, I worked in the NHS for 30 years as a qualified Mental Health Nurse. More recently, I moved into the private sector as a Nursing Home Manager.

My career has mainly been in adult nursing, working with the elderly who have complex mental health needs. In 2015, I moved into the private sector , where I managed a successful nursing home for 44 residents, providing specialist care services for older people in need of support due to physical illnesses or for those living with dementia, in addition to end of life care.

I am proud to have had such a rewarding career. Professionally, I am proud of my continued achievements and determination to always strive for excellence, which is proven in my previous home's 'Outstanding' CQC report.

Amanda Cooper

Unit Nurse Manager

My name is Amanda Cooper, but most people call me Mandy. I'm married with two dogs and no children, and I am a keen amateur gardener, dog walker and cake baker!

My work philosophy is simple - I come to work to be with someone in their own home and to make a difference to their lives, to recognise individuality and personality and, above all, to share and smile.

I've been a Nurse all my working career and I'm passionate about what I do. I have focused on older adult nursing throughout my nursing career and I have experience with acute older adult care, rehabilitation and dementia care. I have a diploma from Dementia Care Matters with David Sheard, and my specialty is working with adults who are living with dementia, those with complex needs and caring for people near to the end of their life.

Victoria Hunt

Activities Coordinator

I’m Vicky and I have been working here at Kingfisher Lodge since April 2016. I began my career at Barchester working in the kitchen, but I soon realised that I wanted to spend more time with residents.

I’ve been a florist for over 10 years and enjoy showing residents my creative side.

I organise events, guest entertainers, all of our daily activities and one-to-one sessions for those who prefer not to join in with group activities.

I really enjoy this role and love coming to work.
