John Bayliss

Acting General Manager

My name is John Bayliss and I am the Acting General Manager here at Kingfisher Lodge.

My working career started in Birmingham, where I was a trainee company accountant. I then moved down to Cormwall in the eighties and became interested in elderly care, starting out as a registered manager of a medium sized nursing home. Since then, my career has stayed mainly around the care home sector, with jobs ranging from the management of small EMI homes, large nursing homes, through to thre role of a Group Operations Manager for a small provider. I also spent a short time out helping my wife run a medium sized convenience store and Post Office as the Postmaster. However, my passion has always been centred around providing high standards of care to older people.

I am looking forward to the opportunity of meeting new people in an environment which is familiar to me and to making a positive impact and difference to those residents, staff and relatives who I come in contact with.

Our care

The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.
