Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home

Music is in the Fl'air

Music is in the Fl'air

We were delighted to welcome the very talented Celia Waghorn and her flute groups, Tootey Flootey, Fl’air Flutes, Murmuration and Flaming Flutes, as they all performed to residents and visitors. The beautiful sound of flutes could be heard throughout the home and everyone enjoyed an interval of refreshments together.

Peotry with Sue Summons

Peotry with Sue Summons

Sue Simmons, a local community poet, came to Wingfield to give a wonderful reading of her poetry. Residents reminisced over the poems of childhood memories and laughed together during her comical finales. We look forward to welcoming Sue again soon.

Burns Night

Burns Night

To celebrate Burns Night, residents made their own Tipsy Laird puddings, which they were able to taste after high tea – and a tipple of whiskey was on offer for those who wanted it.

Tropical Discovery

Tropical Discovery

Kris from Tropical Discovery came to visit residents with a variety of reptiles and insects. Residents were all given the opportunity to stroke and handle them as we learnt fascinating facts about each of the different species.

Garden Centre Visit

Garden Centre Visit

Residents enjoyed a trip to Trowbridge Garden Centre with afternoon tea in the café. We all loved looking at the beautiful plants there before heading home in the minibus.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day brings our nation together in respect and admiration of all our heroes who fought for our country. Many residents themselves have memories of their families who were involved and, as such, we thrive to commemorate through not only reminiscence, but also poetry and craft work.
