Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

For the Love of Music

For the Love of Music

We were delighted to welcome Rob and Sian to Memory Lane this week, where they put on a wonderful performance for residents, who thoroughly enjoyed being able to sing along and reminisce, and we particularly appreciated how interactive the session was.

Bastille Day

Bastille Day

Hats off to our Head Chef, Rob, who made a delicious 3-course, French-themed buffet for Bastille Day. Residents, families and staff all enjoyed lunch in the sunshine, which was beautifully presented.

The local Mayor, Dennis Drewett, came by to The Wingfield to cut our official ribbon in celebration of the completion of our recent refurbishment. This was followed by lunch in the garden with a glass of red wine!

Tropical Discovery Workshop Returns

One of our regular visitors to the home is Tropical Discovery Workshop’s Kris, who brings various animals to the home for the residents to hold and look at, whilst learning a little bit about each species.

Armchair Exercise

Armchair Exercise

Here at the Wingfield, we want to ensure that everyone can take part in physical activities. All our games can participated in from the comfort of an arm or wheelchair, and always go down well with residents.

Dance Fever

Dance Fever

We are extremely lucky to have been contacted by Mike Freke, who is a local dance teacher. He came along to visit us during our beautiful heatwave to perform various dances with his students. The residents who were able to had lots of dances too, as well as enjoying the entertainment. We look forward to welcoming them back on a regular basis.
