Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home

Alpaca Visit

Alpaca Visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit from our friendly local alpaca, who came into The Wingfield to meet residents, staff and loved ones. He was very well-behaved and residents cannot wait for him to visit us again.

Time for a Cuppa

Time for a Cuppa

Alan Coutts, our local vicar, joined us for our ‘Time for a Cuppa’ event, which was hosted to raise money for Dementia UK.

10 Years of Service

10 Years of Service

Evelyn Reserva has been a Registered Nurse at the Wingfield for 10 years. All of the residents, staff and family members wanted to congratulate our Head of Unit, who is an asset to Wingfield, with a Long Service Award and a bouquet of flowers.

Skittles in the Pavilion

Skittles in the Pavilion

We are very lucky to have our pavilion, where residents can go to enjoy sports and games in the warm to escape the cold weather.

Tropical Discovery Workshop

Tropical Discovery Workshop

We would like to thank the team at Tropical Discovery, who bought in an array of their creatures to meet the residents. We thoroughly enjoyed holding and stroking them, especially the snakes and millipedes!

Exercise with a Twist

Exercise with a Twist

After eating all of the delicious treats over Christmas, residents decided to partake in music and movement with our Activities Coordinator, Steph. Here is Rosemary and Audrey, who are getting into full swing of things!
