Activities at Werrington Lodge Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Werrington Lodge Care Home

Christmas is Here

Everyone at Werrington Lodge is really excited for Christmas. We have started decorating our trees and watched the Peterborough City Centre lights switched on from the comfort of our own home.

Pumpkin Carving Competition

We hosted a virtual pumpkin carving competition; there were so many entries, and the residents enjoyed voting for the winning ones.

,

Harvest Festival

We celebrated Harvest Festival with homemade vegetables. Residents enjoyed a selection of soups, bread, cheese and crackers, along with fresh fruits. We also held a Harvest Festival service, singing hymns and reminiscing about the Harvest Festivals of our youth.

Remembrance Sunday

The residents at Werrington Lodge enjoyed making poppies for the Remembrance Day display. In the day, we had a service and reminiscence session about residents' childhood memories during World War 2.

Indoor Visiting Pod

Werrington Lodge has launched a new indoor visiting pod to allow families and friends to hold indoor visits this winter as the Covid-19 pandemic continues. The indoor pod was erected and is made up of a stud wall with perspex screens, with microphones and speakers mounted to each side.

Reunited!

Our very first visitor, Annette, visited her mum and brought beautiful bunch of flowers and her favourite chocolates. As you can see, Annette was over the moon to finally see mum.

Clive Sisan enjoyed a much-needed visit with his wife, Victoria, who has kept in touch via Skype during the pandemic, but nothing can beat face-to-face chatting.

The final picture is of Gill Johnston and his wife Audrey, Gill has missed his wife and was so happy to see her , Gill and Audrey have skyped regularly.
