Activities at Werrington Lodge Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Belinda Sings at Werrington Lodge Care Home!
Belinda Sings came to visit Werrington Lodge last week, the residents and staff enjoyed dancing along to all of their favourite songs!
Celebrating Diwali at Werrington Lodge
We celebrated Diwali here at Werrington Lodge on November 4th.
The resident in the picture is Margaret, Margaret was born in India in 194, she attended several boarding school including Shilong Assam and a school in Calcutta.
When she became ill she went back to Shilong for 2 years. Margaret was then evacuated to Simla, then went to Orissa which was a small area in Naini Tal, Margaret has fond memories of this school as it was in the jungle.
Margaret and her family moved to England during the Partition in 1947, they settled in Liverpool and started a new life. Margaret enjoyed the lights and the tasty sweet treats bought in my a residents family for Diwali, and enjoyed talking to others about her younger years in India.

Werrington Lodge Care Home has a great relationship with their local tesco and they managed to get a fantastic donations of Pumpkins just in time for Halloween! The residents loved carving the pumpkins and the chef made a brilliant pumpkin pie!

Werrington Lodge Donates Arts and Crafts boxes!
Werrington Lodge Care Home donated Arts and Craft boxes to a local preschool, Rainbow Preschool in Werrington. They learned that the pre-school were in need for some new supplies for activities so went through all of the arts and crafts supplies they had available and put them all in boxes to donate to the pre-school along with some biscuits for the team to enjoy. They were delighted and couldn't thank them enough - I am sure we will be helping them going forward!
Afternoon Tea at Werrington!
Over a recent discussion with Residents we found that they really wanted Afternoon Tea specifically with Egg Custards, so we did it!
We held an Afternoon Tea for all of our residents with all of their favourite cakes! We listened to their favourite songs and had a good knatter!

Birthday Celebrations
Alice celebrated her 102nd birthday in style here at Werrington Lodge with her son and daughter-in-law, daughter and granddaughter. Alice said the secret of a long life was a drop of Brandy daily.
