Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home

The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.

Jo Eland

Activities Coordinator

After originally starting at Cheshire Grange in May 2015, I'm delighted to be back in the role of Activities Coordinator. It is a privilege to be in this role and spend time, getting to know our ladies and gentleman and their loved one, whilst doing all the fun things that can make such a difference to their days.

Life at Cheshire Grange Care Home

Year of the Dog

Year of the Dog

To celebrate the Chinese Year of the Dog, we had a dog-themed afternoon. Residents reminisced about old pets and took part in a canine quiz. We had some special guest visitors too: Charlie the Yorkie, Meg and Twiggy, who were all more than happy to pose for the camera.

Not All News Is Bad News

Not All News Is Bad News

It's always a good news day when the weekend papers come out on Bridgewater Terrace; along with a morning coffee, residents can catch up with and chat about what is happening in the world.

,

World Book Day

Mary Poppins and Bert blew in on the wind to Cheshire Grange to celebrate World Book Day. Mary and Bert were joined by residents and visitors on all communities and enjoyed listening to everyone take turns reading favourite poems and extracts from Treasure Island, Pride &Prejudice and Winnie the Pooh, along with discussions about favourite books.

Love Is in the Air

Love Is in the Air

What better way is there to celebrate Valentine's Day than with flowers, chocolates and a glass of Buck's Fizz whilst being serenaded by Richard Millington as he tinkled the ivories? Residents got into the spirit and were soon swaying in time to the music and humming along to well-known favourites.

,

A Morning on Memory Lane

Residents on Bridgewater Terrace enjoyed a very pleasant morning; the ladies chose which colour nail varnish went best with their outfits, whilst the gents practiced their artistic skills.

,

National Puzzle Week

In recognition of National Puzzle Week, residents had a very enjoyable week playing word games, doing crosswords, taking part in quizzes and completing several jigsaw puzzles, some of which nearly got the better of us!
