Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home

The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.

Jo Eland

Activities Coordinator

After originally starting at Cheshire Grange in May 2015, I'm delighted to be back in the role of Activities Coordinator. It is a privilege to be in this role and spend time, getting to know our ladies and gentleman and their loved one, whilst doing all the fun things that can make such a difference to their days.

A Teddy Bear's Picnic

A Teddy Bear's Picnic

If you go down to Cheshire Grange today you're in for a big surprise! For every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain, because today's the day the residents have their teddy bear's picnic.

Residents enjoyed a special teddy bear-themed tea party and had great fun with special guest, Warrington Wolves Rugby League Mascot, Wolfie.

Zoolab

The ladies and gents of Cheshire Grange got to meet and handle some interesting and exotic animals brought in by Zoolab, including Samantha the cockroach, Gary the giant African land snail and Flash the mouse. The visiting creatures were real conversation starters – although most of the conversations did begin with "Ewwww!"

Lymm High School

Lymm High School

We were invited to a coffee morning at Lymm High School by the sixth form students. We were entertained by some of the school's talented young musicians, along with table top games and, of course, the obligatory tea, coffee and cakes were on hand.

Sing Along with Phil Thomas

Sing Along with Phil Thomas

Singer, Phil Thomas, helped us all to get in the party mood. Residents from all communities and home visitors enjoyed singing and dancing to hits from the sixties.

Garden Visit

Garden Visit

Residents took great pleasure strolling around a local garden at Thelwall. The garden belonged to a garden designer and she gave our ladies a great deal of information about the plants and how various parts of the garden began and developed. The afternoon was finished off with tea and delicious homemade cakes that were served in the Victorian greenhouse.

Wedding Day

Using our minibus, we were able to take one of our long-term residents to her Grandson's wedding. It made a very special day just that little be more special for everyone.
