Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home
The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.

After originally starting at Cheshire Grange in May 2015, I'm delighted to be back in the role of Activities Coordinator. It is a privilege to be in this role and spend time, getting to know our ladies and gentleman and their loved one, whilst doing all the fun things that can make such a difference to their days.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Cheshire Grange Care Home
Ladies Day
With Aintree Races Ladies Day happening just down the road from us, we were inspired to host our very own version, giving our special ladies a chance to dress up and enjoy an afternoon tea, complete with cucumber sandwiches, pink lemonade and sparkling wine. The ladies looked a treat and enjoyed trying on lots of different hats that had been loaned and donated by the local village community.
Coco in Training
Coco, the family dog of one of our care team members, is in training to become a therapy dog. As part of this training, she came into visit us to see how she reacted to the fuss and attention from the residents. Coco was a model student, but she was definitely worn out by the end of the day.
Commonwealth Games Afternoon
With the opening of the Commonwealth Games, residents celebrated with their own games afternoon. Teddy skittles proved very popular, not to mention a little competitive.
Chair Yoga
We held our first session of chair-based yoga recently, with residents and their visitors concentrating on breathing and gentle stretches with instructor, Lisa. Everyone was feeling very calm and relaxed afterwards.
Cheshire Dog's Home
A new stock of white fluffy towels raised the question of what to do with the older slightly frayed ones. We decided to donate them to the local dog's home and even made a trip of it. We received a very warm welcome from the staff at Cheshire Dog's Home as the residents wandered round the kennels. Afterwards, the marvellous staff took time to talk to the ladies and brought out some dogs for them to stroke and hold.
Party Time
It was an honour to host a golden wedding anniversary party for one of our Memory Lane residents and her husband. They were joined by many members of their family and lots of friends came to wish the couple a happy anniversary.
