Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Annmarie Scourfield

Activities Coordinator

Hi, My name is Annmarie and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Mount Tryon Care Home. I am passionate about supporting our residents and supporting them to take part in person centered activities. It is important to me that we are encouraging our residents to do the things they enjoy and build a happy, sociable environment for them.

Check Presentation

Check Presentation

We were proud to present the Torquay and Barton Childminders Group with a Cheque for £1,500 from Barchester's Charitable Foundation!

They have received this funding to create an intergenerational living home orchestra, to be formed of local children and childminders, members of the community and community choirs, and to be held at Mount Tryon.

We are all looking forward to welcoming them into our home and creating some wonderful music together!

Valentine's Tea

Valentine's Tea

We celebrated our afternoon tea in style! There was plenty of bubbly to go round and some delicious homemade cake. We followed this with an afternoon of music, spending time with our loved ones whilst listening to a beautiful harp performance.

Valentine's Visit

We started out our day with a wonderful visit from our local pre-school. Together, we celebrated Valentine's Day and by making each other some beautiful friendship cards!

Animal House

Animal House

We had a very special visit from the cute and cuddly animals of Animal HQ. We were joined by a whole host of fluffy visitors, including dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and even chinchillas! The adorable Teddy the dog went on his own very special tour of the home, making sure everyone – even those who hadn’t left their rooms – still got to meet him.

Our New PAT Dog

Our New PAT Dog

We at Mount Tryon would like to extend a very warm welcome to our fluffiest new volunteer – LouLou the PAT dog! She has loved being introduced to residents and we’re incredibly excited to have her joining our family. She’ll be coming to see us regularly, and has even volunteered to be the post dog for our Pen-Pals programme. Her new duties involve carrying the letters to the children we have been writing to.

January Open Day

January Open Day

We recently hosted a fantastic open day here at Mount Tryon. Residents and guests enjoyed listening to the beautiful music of Terrie-May McNulty. We also had a fantastic spread created for us by our Head Chef, Sue!
