Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Annmarie Scourfield
Hi, My name is Annmarie and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Mount Tryon Care Home. I am passionate about supporting our residents and supporting them to take part in person centered activities. It is important to me that we are encouraging our residents to do the things they enjoy and build a happy, sociable environment for them.

Life at Mount Tryon Care Home
Christmas Decorations
We’ve been very busy keeping up our Christmas spirits and making some wonderful paper chains to put up around the home. We’ve been very busy and made enough to decorate all our halls!
Decking the Halls
We’ve been very busy decking the halls here at Mount Tryon. We’ve been having a ball putting up decorations all throughout the home whilst listening to some of our favourite Christmas tunes. It’s been wonderful to see the home be transformed with all the glitter and magic of Christmas.
Beautiful Flowers
Se were lucky enough to be given some beautiful flowers by our local church. We wasted no time in getting them ready and arranging them for our dining room, as well as putting together a beautiful bouquet for the lounge.
Supporting Our Community
We went to Rowcroft Hospice to present them with the money that was raised by residents and visitors throughout the summer. It was wonderful to know that we’ve been able to help them continue their fantastic work in supporting both their residents and members of the community.
Remembrance Sunday
To commemorate Remembrance Day this year, along with wearing poppies and watching the televised service, we planted some crosses in our garden to remember those who served our country.
We also held a special reminiscence session with a projection of clips and news footage from the war eras. We took some time to discuss those we have lost and our memories of those times, as well as sharing the stories that we have been told and keeping those memories alive.
Preparing for Remembrance Day
We’ve been getting ready for Remembrance Sunday by making and selling poppies around the home. We’ve especially enjoyed using tissue paper to make large poppies to decorate the wall, and have had some special reminiscence sessions talking about our memories of the war.
