Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Mount Tryon Care Home

VE Day Celebrations

Staff and residents at Mount Tryon Care Home along with people all over the UK, joined together for the Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW2. In light of the current situation, rather than celebrating with street parties, at 3pm on May 8th, the country was encouraged to mark the day with a nationwide toast - “To those who gave so much, we thank you”. Paying tribute to the many millions at home and abroad, that sacrificed so much to ensure we all enjoy and share the freedom we have today.

Residents also celebrated the occasion by bunting making, decorating the home red, white and blue, VE Day quiz, singalong to Dame Vera Lynn in the garden and the staff dressed in 1940’s clothing, and tucked into a delicious selection of cakes, tea, coffee, Pimms and Prosecco.

Birthday Celebrations

Mary celebrated her 73rd birthday in Mount Tryon on 31st March. She was presented with a cake and all the staff gathered to sing her happy birthday. Mary received numerous calls from her family during the day and really enjoyed herself! Happy birthday, Mary!

Pizza Making

Resident, Brian, really enjoyed spending the afternoon making pizza for the residents at Mount Tryon. He was assisted by our Activities Coordinator, Anne-Marie. All who tried them said they were delicious!

Valentine's Day

The residents made a 'what is love tree', where add they added messages about what love means to them to. A lovely day was had by all, and some of the cards were fabulous!

Get Some Oomph

Here at Mount Tryon we have been lucky to be chosen to work with Oomph! Wellness. This programme will compliment and work alongside our variety of activities for our wonderful residents. It's great way to promote resident wellbeing that's part of the person centered approach.

Here we are been introduced to an exercise class with a difference! We had a seated gentle exercise session to keep things moving and encourage co-ordination. A big 'cheer' for our first session and we look forward to it being part of our regular activities programme.

We Will Remember Them

In honor of all who serve, have served and their families, we spent time during our regular arts and crafts sessions to paint and create poppy wreaths. It is important to us at Mount Tryon to encourage different ways for residents to express feelings, and art is one of the very popular ways to do this.
