Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Hi, My name is Annmarie and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Mount Tryon Care Home. Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

This month, we were proud to celebrate the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The weather held out for us and we were able to enjoy some delicious, homemade cakes and treats out in the sun. We were joined by residents, relatives and guests from the local community.

Scrabble Competition

Scrabble Competition

We were joined in some friendly word-themed competition by visitors from Lucerne House Care Home in Exeter. Residents, staff and relatives joined together to compete against our guests, although we were no match for their skills, and they won a resounding victory.

Not one to take a loss lying down, we have challenged them to a game of Countdown, and will be off to play them in a rematch in September!

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea

Residents and relatives sat down to enjoy a sparkling afternoon tea in our gorgeous dining room. Residents and guests enjoyed homemade cakes and scones along with raising a glass of bubbly for the occasion! It was such as success we’ve decided to make it a regular event.

Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day

Mount Tryon was visited by Kevin Foster MP to join us in celebrating and remembering our forces during Armed Forces Day. We marked the occasion with a remembrance service and built a river of poppies in the garden, handmade by residents and guests.

Harbour Trip

Harbour Trip

We made the most of the weather and went out to enjoy the Great British seaside. We went for a walk along the harbour and the pier, but not before stopping for an ice cream to cool off. It was gloriously hot and we’re looking forward to getting back out there again!

Hand Painting

To get in the summery spirit, residents at Mount Tryon enjoyed a flower painting session. Some of us painted flowers on paper whilst others enjoyed having some beautiful blooms painted on to our arms.
