Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Annmarie Scourfield
Hi, My name is Annmarie and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Mount Tryon Care Home. I am passionate about supporting our residents and supporting them to take part in person centered activities. It is important to me that we are encouraging our residents to do the things they enjoy and build a happy, sociable environment for them.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mount Tryon Care Home

Card Night
We had a great time this week at Mount Tryon hosting our first card night.
We settled down with a glass of sherry, some Cadbury chocolate orange segments, and a classic game of Jim Rummy.
We are all looking forward to our next evening together, which will take place once a month.

Harvest Festival
We at Mount Tryon received an invitation to the St. Matthias Preschool Harvest Festival celebration at St. Matthias Church.
As a group, we organised our donation while the others prepared a homemade vegetable soup. We spent a great time celebrating with our friends from the pre-school, who staged a touching event in the church.
We eagerly await their return visit next week, when we all will be creating autumnal decorations together.

National Cake decorating day
National Cake Decorating Day at Mount Tryon was made even more special because our head chef, Sue Forshaw, took time out of her very busy kitchen to show us how to decorate cakes.
One of our residents, who has been a professional cake decorator for many years, found it easy to do, and the afternoon was lovely.
Fantastic work, Ladies.

World Alzheimer’s day
On World Alzheimer's Day, we have had a wonderful day celebrating at Mount Tryon. We began the day with some baking with Amy and Cristian, two of our dementia champions. This brought back many wonderful memories and opportunities for reminiscing. Everyone commented on how beautiful our memory lane smelt while our chocolate brownies cooked. To follow we enjoyed a lively dancing with scarf activity, finished off with afternoon tea where we enjoyed our homemade Brownies.

National Pepperoni Day
Our deputy chef Jo came to help us prepare our own homemade pizzas for supper on National Pepperoni Pizza Day here at Mount Tryon. Our residents loved getting involved with making their own food! A very fun and tasty treat indeed!

Our new boxercise Weekly Activity
We had our first boxercise class today at Mount Tryon with our physio assistant Jermaine. Everyone had a great time; after a fast-paced warm-up, we were all on the edge of our seats waiting to see who would show off their skills against Exeter University's runner-up boxing champion, in a National Boxing Tournament Jermaine. As we begin our new weekly boxercise sessions with Jermaine, we will be honing our skills every week.
