Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Birthday Celebrations

What a wonderful day celebrating Lizzies 83rd Birthday here at Mount Tryon. It is always such a privilege to be part of our residents special days, helping them to celebrate with their loved ones. Lizzie enjoyed her beloved fish and chips with her family which is a tradition they have always partaken and enjoyed. Followed by a tea party, lovely gifts and a beautiful cake!

Burns Night

We all looked forward to our hot toddies this year at Mount Tryon for Burns Night, so we made our cocktail umbrellas in one of our residents' tartan McNeil of Barra to adorn them.  We all settled down with our hot toddies and Scottish shortbread, As we took turns reading some of Robert Burns' poems and a brief account of his life.

Cheese and Wine

Here at Mount Tryon, we celebrated Cheese Lovers Day with a delicious assortment of cheeses, gourmet cookies, and wine, followed by a Cheese and Wine quiz!

National Activity Provider Week

It is National Activity Providers Week and we would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful Life Enrichment team for all of the fun and laughter they bring to the home. We are proud of the dedication and creativity they bring to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful. We are lucky enough to have a wonderful team and wonderful volunteers here at Mount Tryon and that we are very thankful for.

Baking Workshop

Given that it was National Gluten Free Day, we decided to test our gluten-free cake recipes ourselves with the assistance of willing family members. We created lemon drizzle and lemon butterfly cakes, which we all ate with afternoon tea and found to be quite delicious! We appreciate our catering team who make the majority of our meals gluten free along side special diets.

Christmas Day

Christmas at Mount Tryon has been a time of joy and togetherness, where hearts were warmed, and spirits lifted. The gentle hum of laughter from the residents, their families, and the ever-dedicated staff and volunteers came together to celebrate the magic of the season. Gifts have been exchanged, games have been played, songs have been sung, amazing food and drink has been shared by all. As the days have unfolded, the spirit of Christmas grew brighter with every shared moment. It truly has been a celebration of love, connection, and the simple beauty of being together.
