Activities at Alice Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Alice Grange Care Home
Otley Bell Ringers
Residents, staff and friends of Alice Grange enjoyed a performance by the Otley Bell Ringers. They performed brilliantly and it was lovely to welcome a local community group into the home.
Christmas Day at Alice Grange
Residents and staff all enjoyed a festive and fun Christmas at Alice Grange. Staff dressed up in their favourite festive outfits and gave out presents to the residents. Everybody enjoyed a brilliantly cooked Christmas dinner by our great Chef, Titus. Family and friends visited the home and there was a true festive buzz in the air.
Visit from Martlesham Academy
Our residents were treated to a brilliant performance by Martlesham Academy's schoolchildren. Their choir sung some of the residents favourite Christmas songs and then stopped for a chat afterwards. The residents really enjoyed talking with the school children as they shared some of their memories of being in school or being teachers! We are looking forward to welcoming the school back again in the future.
Christmas Show Spectacular
We had a Christmas Show Spectacular this week, with dancing, singing and a lot of laughs! With lots of energy and even more costume changes, the entertainers had the residents totally enthralled!
Christmas Cake Creations
Residents and Staff at Alice Grange have been busy baking and decorating a fabulous Christmas Cake as part of Barchester's Christmas Cake Competition! Lots of time was taken creating the icing shapes used to decorate the cake but everybody was delighted with the end results! Residents will be able to enjoy eating the cake at our Christmas Party.
Birchwood Primary School Choir
Here at Alice Grange Care Home we love to invite different parts of the community into our lovely home. On this occasion we had Birchwood Primary School join us to sing Christmas Carols! The residents loved seeing the children perform and were singing along to the classic Christmas tunes. After performing, the children spent some time talking to the residents and learning more about their Christmas plans.
