Activities at Alice Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Penny Allen

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

Father's Day

Everyone has lots of fun celebrating Father's Day here at Alice Grange!

International Nurses' Day

On 12th May 2020, we celebrated International Nurses' Day, and all of our nurses at Alice Grange received a fun medal and a Krispie Cream doughnut.

VE Day

On the 8th May 2020, we celebrated VE Day. There was lots of reminiscing throughout the day and staff dressed as land army girls. We finished off the day with a singalong in the garden and afternoon tea with themed cakes and scones with fresh cream and jam, and Pimm's. We played 'Pin the Cigar on Churchill' and all received a VE day pack with lots of memorabilia.

Easter Delivery

We have had a delivery of handmade Easter cards today from local children—one for every resident! They were kindly delivered by Joy, Isabella and Rosie Moore-Smith, plus Daisy the Dog!

Flower Arranging Session

Flower arranging is a regular activity at Alice Grange as well as our weekly garden club. We are looking forward to being able to use the flowers from the garden for our arrangements.

Elvis Visited Alice Grange

Elvis was in the house singing all our residents favourite songs. This really goes down well with family friends and all of our residents. We were hoping for Andy Otley to return in April or May, but have had to cancel.
