Activities at Red Oaks Care Home

We believe in making a difference to the lives of people living here with us and ensure that we provide a lifestyle full of choice and stimulation that is centred around each resident here at Red Oaks. This includes a whole host of varied activities, together with regular trips out around the region, taking full advantage of the home’s minibus. Our aim is to enable each person we support to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as they possibly can.

Sue McHoy

Activities Coordinator

My role as activity coordinator at Red Oaks is ensuring that all residents have a full and varied activity program. Using our getting to know me books and knowing our residents backgrounds develop our activity program. Having lived in Henfield for the past 10 years I enjoy assisting residents maintaining and forming new the community connections.

I am passionate about my role, the part is having fun and making people smile.

Life at Red Oaks Care Home

Community knitted Christmas Tree

Community spirit is at the heart of Red Oaks and when the team asked for knitted squares to form part of our stunning tree everyone accepted. They received them from all over the local area and even further parts of the country. I'm sure you will agree it looks fantastic and is pride of place for all the residents to enjoy too.

Christmas cake competition

Red Oaks always like to rise to a challenge and the Barchester cake competition is no different. This year the very talented team made these exceptional cakes for the home's entry. Not only did they look amazing but they tasted just as delicious too.

Christmas Jumper day

Everyone got involved in true Red Oaks style and celebrated Christmas Jumper day. Fun, laughter and lots of Christmas spirit.

Courtyard Concert

Residents were treated to some well needed and very much appreciated live music. Whilst everyone was safe inside, the fantastic band Brass Fusion played some brilliant classics for everyone to enjoy. Complete with Christmas hats and festive cheer. We cant wait to welcome them back.

Pamper Time

Residents are overjoyed as the hairdresser is now allowed back into the home. We understand how important self care is to everyone, so as soon as they gave the green light we booked as many people in as we could. We have a feeling she is going to be very busy over the coming weeks getting our residents for the festive period.

Reunited again

Little Hattie was reunited with her owner after 9 long months apart. Although it was through glass this time, they still knew exactly who they were. A lovely early Christmas present for everyone.
