Kingsland House Care Home
Kingsland House Care Home in Shoreham-by-Sea
Kingsland House benefits from being purpose-built - it is comfortable, airy and well designed. It enjoys a seaside location between Worthing and Brighton, with plenty of local amenities but within easy reach of London, the South coast and the South Downs.
Kingsland House offers high quality nursing care to frail older people and has a dedicated Memory Lane Community for people living with dementia. With family involvement, personalised care plans ensure that individual and group activities are matched to particular needs, likes and dislikes, promoting independence and community involvement. Dignity, independence and choice are taken very seriously by our friendly and helpful staff, and are reflected in personalised rooms, tailored activities and a very well-maintained home.
Our Memory Lane Community is specially designed for its client group and is staffed by nurses and support workers who specifically chose to work with people living with dementia. Barchester’s standards of training, audit and supervision for dementia-specialist staff lead the care sector.
Choosing a care home can be complicated and emotionally demanding. We pride ourselves on the help we offer to individuals and families who want to find the best and most appropriate care. You can make contact by phone or by email – we will be pleased to offer advice or to arrange a visit.

Our Team

Karen Williams
Hi, my name is Karen, and I am the General Manager here at Kingsland House. Welcome to our website!
I have been a nurse for over 30 years and have worked both in the NHS and the private sector. A large part of my experience has been in palliative care and I have been lucky to have been able to run the inpatient unit at Phyllis Tuckwell hospice in Farnham, and worked as a Specialist community nurse for St Catharine’s Hospice in Crawley
I moved into management of nursing homes and was the manager of the first home to get an Outstanding rating from the CQC in Surrey. I love being a nurse and have learnt so much from the people I have met and cared for in the different settings that I have had the privilege to work in.
I have been involved in various projects with Surrey University looking at ethics in Health care, and with Skills for care. The Gold standard framework has also been something I have been involved with and have been able to use what I have learnt to benefit the wellbeing of residents and increase Quality of life.
