Lydfords Care Home in Lewes
We are planning the re-development of Lydfords Care Home as the facilities and environment at the home are not aligned to the standards we expect, and strive for at Barchester Healthcare. Due to the significant work needed we are sorry to say that we are not able to do this whilst residents are living in the home, so have made the difficult decision to close the home whilst we do this. We hope that this would be completed in 2021, but it is not possible to say for sure.
If you are looking for care in Lewes or the surrounding area, please contact one of our sister homes below:
Lydfords Care Home is set in its own grounds with beautiful views of the South Downs. We are found in the centre of the pleasant village of East Hoathly and are close to good transport links, making us easily accessible for visitors to pop-in for a chat. Our Care team offers residential care for people who need help with daily tasks, and nursing care for those who have complex medical needs. Our home also provides 24-hour nursing dementia care provided by specialist teams trained in the complexities of looking after those living with dementia, who may also have other long-term medical conditions.
At Lydfords Care Home, we put our residents' health and happiness at the heart of everything we do. We love to actively encourage residents to take part in all decisions. As well as providing excellent professional care, our entire team is dedicated to fostering a sense of home and of belonging. That means taking plenty of time to understand individual residents, their likes and dislikes, and exploring all the ways we can make them happy and comfortable. It’s all about giving our residents and their loved ones the confidence that we’re providing the very best of care, and delivering special resident experiences every day.
We run a busy activities programme so that our residents are never without something to do, including our regular visits from the local Vicar for Holy Communion.

Hi, my name is a Catalin, and I am the General Manager here at Lydfords. Welcome to our website!
I have been a registered nurse for over 10 years, working primarily with elderly people in nursing homes.
At Lydfords, I started as a registered nurse in 2013, and was promoted to Clinical Lead and then Deputy Manager shortly after.
I had the opportunity to learn and study for my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership, which I finished in 2018.
I lead my team by example: being open, honest and passionate about providing the best nursing care for residents.
