Westlake House Care Home in Horsham

Westlake House is a friendly and inviting residential care home, offering 24-hour nursing and residential care for older people in need of support. Alongside this, we offer respite care and short breaks, which can now be pre-booked up to a year in advance. Our person-centred approach to care is provided by professionals who are committed to making the home an exceptional place to live and enable all residents to enjoy an improved quality of life.

Westlake House had a major refurbishment in 2017 and its new appearance was carefully designed with the people we care for in mind. The home now has en-suite, fully furnished bedrooms that can be personalised, beautiful lounge areas with views of our gardens, as well as elegant and spacious dining rooms.

Our high quality facilities and standards of care are reflected across all aspects of life within the home; our team of chefs are passionate about producing nutritious meals that are appetising and varied. Meanwhile, our activities coordinators work hard to create exciting social programmes that appeal to residents' own interests.

We welcome guests at any time, so why not arrange a visit and experience West Lake for yourself?

Our Team

The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Clare Hall

General Manager

Hi, my name is Clare and I am the General Manager here at Westlake. Welcome to our website!

I have been a qualified general nurse for over 30 years. For the first 13 years of my career, I was primarily hospital-based, having worked not only in the UK as a ward sister, but for 8 years in the Middle East in acute care.

I have worked since in regulation as a home inspector and have enjoyed the opportunity to work in social care as a nurse, manager and mentor.

Having experienced successful roles in both regional and operational positions, I found my niche was having a more hands-on approach in the position of a registered home manager, where I could both nurture my team and deliver great outcomes for those we support.

My passion is to always strive to ensure anyone in our care receives the safest and highest quality support, and I'm excited that Barchester has given me the opportunity to do this.

I'm looking forward to supporting and leading a great team to achieve the outcomes we all expect in a way that allows residents to retain their dignity and independence as much as possible.

I'm proud of my nursing registration and being a trainer and assessor. I am passionate about ensuring that people live well with dementia and hold a trainer certificate in dementia care. I have led successful teams that have been nominated nominated in various categories for a National Care Award, in addition to winning an internal award for 'Best Care Team'.

Head of Activities

I have been at Westlake House since 2008. I work to ensure that residents enjoy a range of entertainment throughout the day; this varies from sports, such as indoor carpet bowls and kurling, to outings, crafts, quizzes and whatever residents feel like doing on any particular day.

We take pride in the variety of activities we offer; access to a minibus means that we can go for trips to the seaside or out for lunch any time residents want to.

All the team believe that it is important to be active both in mind and body; having fun no matter your age is at the core of our philosophy.
