Activities at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

Home enter best dressed tree competition

Residents and colleagues at Prestbury Beaumont came together during the festive period to share ideas on how to decorate the homes 8-ft Christmas Tree as part of their entry to the annual best dressed Christmas tree competition held by life enrichment.  With inspiration drawn from the popular Disney film, Frozen – blue and silver was chosen.

Everyone had a lot of fun rummaging through the stock of baubles to choose the right colours, they think the finished tree met the brief!  We think it added a lot of glitz and sparkle in the homes reception area.

Christmas Eve celebrations

Residents and staff got into the Christmas spirit this Christmas by throwing a Christmas Eve Party as they waited for the big day to arrive!  Everyone tucked in to delicious home-made mince pies especially prepared by residents during the day, and a freshly baked and hand decorated Christmas cake was up for grabs!  A glass of their favourite tipple was on hand to wash down the tasty treats too!  A little festive cheer was sprinkled along the way as their very own Father Christmas and his Elf made a special appearance.

Elf Day

This little guy was spotted hiding behind the lounge curtain. His cheeky face brought a smile to everyone who saw him. He kept disappearing but was soon found again, this time in a flower display. No doubt he’ll be finding somewhere else to hide soon.

Home receives cards from Kings School

Residents at Prestbury Beaumont have been delighted to receive hand-made Christmas cards from the pre-school pupils at local school, Kings.  The home have been busy keeping in touch with their friends at the school through virtual activities, letter writing and cards.  The residents are busy reading these colourful personalised cards and wish the pupils a very Merry Christmas and look forward to the time when they can visit the home once again.

Home donated to The Pantry Foodbank

Prestbury Beaumont care Community in Prestbury recently presented its local food bank - the Pantry, situated in Macclesfield with a donation of much needed supplies.

The care home has recently been donating home-baked goods such as gingerbread biscuits, fairy cakes and lemon-meringue pies to the food bank every week for the past month, something the residents have felt brings more meaning to baking in the home and have enjoyed being able to help those who need it, even from a distance.

Olivia Falkner, Activities Co-ordinator at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community, said “Our residents look forward every week to baking new creations to donate to the food bank and are always eager to know how they can help even more. With Christmas approaching, it was suggested we hold a food drive to collect canned and fresh goods, as well as essential toiletries to donate to The Pantry. We are overjoyed with the amount we were able to collect for our donation and hope to continue to help in our community”.

Christmas preparations

Residents of Prestbury Beaumont have been busy writing their cards and letters and posting in their very special hand-made post box so that they don’t miss the posting dates to family and friends as each day the home takes to the Royal Mail to send.  Everyone has been getting into the festive spirit and are counting down to Christmas with their life enrichment programme filled with Christmas activities.
