Our specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care. Whether you need a long-term placement or a short spell of respite, our highly professional team will provide you with the appropriate levels of support.

Person-centred care is at the very heart of all Barchester care homes. At Arbour Court, this is achieved by employing and developing dedicated and compassionate staff who create bespoke care plans tailored to each resident living with us. We also work hard to ensure that we provide an extensive activities programme with something for every resident to enjoy, including live entertainment and frequent trips to local attractions.

Types of care

Here at Arbour Court, each staff member strives to support individuals living with a form of dementia with person-centred nursing care. It is important to us that our care services are delivered in a way that celebrates individuality and helps residents to maintain as much independence as possible, so we tailor our services to meet the unique needs of each person. This could include personal one-to-one time with staff members when needed, regular visits from a chiropodist or just adhering to special dietary requirements.

Kelly Tatton

Acting General Manager

Hi, my name is Kelly and I am the Deputy Manager currently acting as General Manager here at Arbour Court.

I have worked at Arbour Court since 2000 and started my career as a care assistant.

After completing my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Health & Social Care, I became interested in helping other staff to achieve theirs. I qualified as an assessor and became the Home Trainer in 2009.

After achieving a Leadership & Management qualification, I became a Care Practitioner and was promoted to the Head of Hollies Unit in November 2016, and eventually to Deputy Manager.

I am passionate about providing good, person-centred dementia care for those we support. I also take an active role in the training and recruitment of staff.

Unit Manager - Hollies

Hi, my name is Corina and I am the Unit Manager on Hollies here at Arbour Court.

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1991 and then went on to higher education to study Nursing and Psychology, gaining experience working on medical, stroke, brain injuries and complex needs in rehabilitation hospital wards.

I enjoy using my skills and experience in nursing to care for the residents at Arbour Court. I have a passion for delivering an outstanding level of care to the people I support.

I enjoy working closely with my team to ensure that we provide high quality care in a centre of excellence.

Hi, I am Costa and I am the Head of Chestnut Unit here at Arbour Court.

I graduated nursing school in 1990 in Romania and worked as a paramedic in my country and gained experience in nursing in Israel.

We offer dementia care here at Arbour Court and I am responsible for supporting staff to ensure that we provide a high standard of care to residents.

Administrator

My name is Elspeth and I am the Administrator here at Arbour Court. Before working for Barchester, I worked in various admin roles, including a few different positions at the University of Manchester, before relocating to Wales, where I worked at Swansea University and at a bank.

I joined Barchester in December 2016 and started at a different home, covering maternity leave until I moved to Arbour Court in October 2017.

I enjoy making sure everything is organised and putting new processes into action. I have also loved getting to know all the staff and residents at the home.

Activities Coordinator

My name is Joe and I am an Activities Coordinator here at Arbour Court.

I started my career as a chef in various hotels in Torquay before moving to Manchester. After working in various other jobs, I became a chef at a different home. Working as a chef for many years, I decided on a career change and came to Arbour Court to be the Activities Coordinator.

I love spending time with the residents and getting to know them on a personal level. We go on outings, play games and find out residents’ likes and dislikes.

My interests include football, travelling and going to the races. After spending the day interacting with the residents, I love to relax and wind down with some peace and quiet.

Activities Coordinator

My name is Chloe Booth and I am one of the Activities Coordinators here at Arbour Court. I have worked at this home since 2012 and have spent much of that time as a Carer. However, in 2018, I decided I was ready for a change, and applied to work on the activities team.

I love working at Arbour Court; I love the residents, the staff and the nature of the work. Dementia is something that turns people’s lives upside down, so if I can spend time with someone and make them smile, I feel I have done my job well.

My name is Mel and I am the Admin Assistant here at Arbour Court. I joined Barchester group in November 2018.

I have previously worked within the travel industry, managing various shops. I also spent time working as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant using my British Sign Language skills.   

I am passionate about my job and work. My main role is to keep everything on track, supporting the Administrator with the day-to-day running of Arbour Court.

Maintenance Manager

My name is John and I’m the Maintenance Manager here at Arbour Court.

I have worked for Barchester Healthcare since 2006 and I’m responsible for a variety of tasks, including maintaining a safe environment for residents and ensuring the home meets legislative and statutory health and safety requirements. Part of my job role is to liaise with our local fire service to enable me to deliver effective fire training to staff.

Some of my qualifications include aCity and Guilds 7300, IOSH and an ILM diploma in Leadership and Management.
