"My father was at Arbour Court for 2 weeks respite care. Entrance formalities were very easy. All the staff are very supportive. My father confirmed the food was of a very good standard. Made to feel part of a family."

"We would wish to thank the manager and all the staff who worked tirelessly to make Armed Forces Day a huge success. Our special thanks goes to the activities coordinator who facilitated this special event on behalf of the residents and their families. The singer was in fine voice, with the residents, as they remembered special moments with their loved ones and friends with the song, "We'll Meet Again". And meet again they certainly did; he met his old school chum from Tintwistle. Who has made his home at Arbour Court Care Home, Buxton Lane, Marple. People danced, waltzes, marched and waved flags. The whole event was followed by a delicious high tea, sandwiches, cream cakes and glasses of Prosecco (non-alcoholic) toasted the special day. We then all retired to the garden. To witness a beautiful rose tree being planted by a veteran of the Royal Signals Regiment and another veteran of the Royal Navy. What a terrific day! Hip, hip, hurray. Thank you."

"Mum has only been in the care of Arbour Court for a short time. The staff are helpful, caring and can't do enough to help. Mum and the rest of the family have been made very welcome and feel very happy with the care and understanding received. The compassion shown by staff members is excellent. We know it must be very difficult at times, but nothing seems too much trouble. Thank you to all staff members for your support."

"My husband was a resident at Arbour Court for 16-months. He sadly passed away on April 27th 2022. I would like to thank all the staff for the utmost care and attention they gave to him during that time, which must have been difficult at times. They were always pleasant, and nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending Arbour Court."

"Mum arrived at Arbour Court at the end of March to a lovely welcome by all staff, she was introduced to all the residents in the lounge. She appears to have settled in nicely and the staff are very caring towards mum and go out of their way to support her. Her room is very comfortable and she likes the view of the little pond. The staff are always friendly when you visit and keep you informed of any issues and let you know how things are going. I've been very impressed so far."

"Since mum became a resident at Arbour Court, she is now pleasantly muddled and very settled. This is down to the excellent loving care she has received. The staff know their patients as people, not statistics and because of that have the gift of “reading” the resident’s needs without waiting for the resident to tell them. I miss my mum but I don’t worry about her as I know she is safe and receiving the expert care that we could no longer give her in the family home."

"All the staff who saw me were incredibly friendly and courteous. I’ve always been made to feel welcome. Mum is looked after incredibly well and I know she is being given the best care possible. Warm room and tv on for entertainment."

"Our family can only say a huge thank you to everyone looking after our Mum in Arbour Court over the last 8-months. We can see that she is well cared for in every aspect. She speaks to her carers with kind responses so we know that is how they treat her! It has been an emotional time finding a home and settling Mum in. The staff have been wonderful and everyone’s attitude to us has been helpful and considerate. We can’t thank them enough and feel that we have found our extended family."

"The resident and I value the fact he is allowed the choice of remaining in his room or going into the lounge. He is always clean and smartly dressed and the meals are nicely presented, looks and smell appetising. I've omitted to tick activities because I don't know if he participates? Unfortunately, the is often the aroma of urine in the corridor having low ceilings, carpets and enclosed corridors make it inevitable sometimes."

"My wife was taken into Arbour Court one year ago. A difficult time for all due to Covid. Over that year I have found all the staff to be kind, caring and helpful. I have been particularly impressed by the Covid prevention measures put in place in general, and the extra precautions to handle times of greater need. I feel very comfortable with the care that my wife is receiving."

"After the last eighteen months, it's been very hard for carers and families, but once again I will say thank you to all the staff at Arbour Court for the respect and kindness they have shown to me and I feel so much better knowing my husband is so well looked after."

"My wife has been been a resident at Arbour Court for just over 2 years but due to Covid, it has been very difficult for residents and relatives. I have lost contact with most of the staff and only meet a small number at limited visiting time. However, I have no reason not to praise all the staff including Gardener, House Keepers, Chef's, Carers, Nursing and Management Staff. I have always found all the staff polite helpful and sympathetic when the time is appropriate. There will always be times when one feels your concern/problem should be treated more urgently but one may not be aware of a far more serious situation is at the forefront. Situations are always changing and I have never seen the staff panicking. We have had an experience of a very bad residential care home, which put us on guard on admission to Arbour Court. I am delighted to state I am very pleased with the love and care my wife receives if she only knew us all and her living surroundings. A very good team all round."

"My Mum has been a resident of Barchester Arbour Court Care Home for nearly a year. She has vascular dementia and was very frail after having a fall at a previous care home. When admitted she was refusing to eat and was end of life. The care and attention she has received from all her nursing team has been great. Mum is now eating and looking a lot better with colour in her cheeks. Her room is lovely and has everything she needs and surrounded by lots of family photos. I would highly recommend Arbour Court without a doubt."

"I have nothing but respect for the staff and care, how they have looked after the patients (especially my husband) over the uncertain time we are going through, they always make me feel welcome when I go. It isn't the poshest of places but the care they give to patients and family is wonderful."

"Thank you, that's all I can say about the staff and everyone that's in Arbour Court. This year has been extra hard for everyone but I know my husband has been well looked after with compassion and care. When I visit they always make me feel very welcome and ask how everyone is in my family. so much care from everyone."

"My feedback is related to the magnificent care that my mother is receiving from your team. I truly thought that she was at the end of her life in May 2020 when she went under your care but you have performed miracles with her physical condition. Given Covid restrictions and the fact that I live 300 miles away, I call to speak to my mother frequently and each time I call I always try to have a conversation with the care team members on duty. I am extremely grateful that every one of the care team has given me the time to talk to me and explain in kind, but factual, terms how my mother is actually doing. The care team members display a calm, patient and pleasant manner and seem to have a genuine affection towards my mother (this view is entirely endorsed by my mother). To finish, I wish to formally thank all of you for what you are doing to care for my mother and I would be quite willing to publicly endorse this facility and the staff in any way I can. A grateful son of a resident."

"I have nothing but praise in the way my husband is looked after at Arbour Court. They always put me at ease when I go in and listen when I am feeling quite sad. They always ring one when they are concerned about my husband. Over the last few months, I have nothing but praise how they have looked after everyone."

"My mother moved into Arbour Court in February 2020 after her carer, my father, became seriously ill. I was worried about the prospect of my mother going into care but I needn't have been. From day one when I was given a guided tour of Arbour Court I was immediately struck by the professionalism and the friendliness of the staff. The feeling I got on entering was very much of a home where everyone is loved and treated with the utmost care, respect and dignity. My father eventually passed away at the end of February and my mother was admitted to Arbour Court permanently. It's clear from the conversations I have with my mother that she's incredibly happy there. She has company, support and activities to keep her mind active and good food. Her room is lovely, backing out onto a beautiful garden area. I really couldn't be happier with the whole setup at Arbour Court."

"I just wanted to take the time to write a review about all the fantastic staff at Arbour Court. My aunt has recently passed away with vascular dementia and she spent the last two years at Arbour Court after us really struggling, as a family, to find a suitable home as she was really poorly and displaying very challenging behaviour. From the moment my aunt arrived she was given fabulous care. Staff were patient and caring and it was clear my aunt felt settled. Staff have been amazing at supporting both my aunt and us as a family in the final stages of her illness."

"I ran a voluntary exercise class at Arbour and was very very impressed with the warmth of the welcome, the caring nature of the activities team and they're willing to engage with my activities. Residents were clearly very settled and safe and, without exception, were called by name and treated with dignity. I was also very impressed that the home management team who took an interest in my work and were receptive to feedback. I cannot comment on all areas of the home, or on costs but its clearly a great environment. Thanks to all the team."

"My mother stayed from 29th December 2017 until 29th December 2018. The staff were fantastic, warm, friendly, kind and made us part of a family. I can't thank them enough for the way they looked after my mam until she passed away. They always had a smile on their faces - a brilliant home for my mum."

"The duty manager has treated our dad with dignity, respect and with the care my dad deserves. He is always available to answer questions in layman's terms and in a way that explains how something may affect his quality of life. He is extremely knowledgeable and understanding in an area which is very complex and has, at times, received some bad press which certainly doesn't apply in this case. We couldn't recommend the home highly enough and are very grateful for the care received."

"Mum has settled extremely well at Arbour Court following a very challenging time in her previous care home, due to her worsening dementia. The staff are lovely, very caring and thoughtful. She enjoys the activities and entertainment organised for the residents. It is a great relief for me that she is in such a lovely (and safe) environment."

"My husband's mobility has improved a great deal since moving to Arbour Court. The staff are very friendly and they treat each resident with the utmost care and attention, seeing to their individual needs with patience. My husband is enjoying his meals - particularly the homemade muffin with his afternoon cup of tea which is a real treat. Thank you Arbour Court."

"Mum settled into Arbour Court from the moment she arrived. She is very content and happy there. The staff are very caring, polite and respectful towards residents and their relatives. They deal with everything calmly and seem to have endless patience. The atmosphere at Arbour Court is welcoming. The staff are always friendly and they have a good rapport with the residents and relatives. It is reassuring to be able to entrust Mum's care to people who genuinely seem to care for each resident and who are stoically committed to their work."

"Arbour Court do not tell me anything about what is going on regarding my loved one's health and welfare. My experience is that medication can be forgotten to be, or just not, re-ordered when it runs out which resulted in a really bad reaction in my loved one. My loved one has assessments or might need extra care, perhaps because of bed sores, or have other things, like injections, opticians visits or something similar and I am not informed. A carer told me that they are not allowed to change pads at less than six hourly intervals when I asked somebody if they could put a fresh pad on. When I have asked for help for my loved one on more than one occasion, I was told there is no one available. I will say, though, that there are carers who are really lovely, dedicated and excellent in doing a really difficult job. By the same token, there are one or two less than helpful. The building was purpose built and, I think it is very suitable. The food, again, is excellent."

"During the last two years, Arbour Court have provided exemplary care to my mother who suffered from the latter stages of dementia. My mother was also at a very high risk of falling and had many other health complications. The care home manager was incredibly kind and sympathetic and was evidently liked by the residents as he had such a caring nature and showed great compassion, whilst being efficient and knowledgeable. The nurses and carers also provided superb care to my mother who was very challenging. Like many dementia residents, her condition meant that it was not always possible for her to look clean and well groomed, as she would often become aggressive or aggravated if they tried to intervene. Thus it proved best that only her essential care needs were met, to a very high standard, in order to keep her comfortable and safe. I have nothing but praise for the care she received and the attentive and thoughtful approach of all those at the care home. Thank you very much."

"My Stepfather, who had dementia, was admitted from hospital. Sadly he deteriorated quickly due to his illness. Although he was only at Arbour Court for six days his 'End of Life' care was outstanding with care for my Stepfather and consideration for the family. At every stage, we were kept informed."

"Care by the staff for my mother throughout her 33 months stay was first rate. The nursing and care staff were always efficient, caring and kind to my mother and to family, whatever pressure of work they were under. The staff always made time for relatives and were at all times compassionate as well as professional. They were also open and honest about mums condition and treatment and prospects. Having visited other dementia care facilities locally. I would say Arbour Court."

"Since the day my dad went into Arbour Court he has been looked after impeccably, both in cleanliness and clothing. His skin has never been so good, no more sores or ulcers. "Due to the deterioration of mums dementia, it was an emotional decision to move mum into a care home, however, mum has now been resident at Arbour Court for over 12 months and is extremely happy there. Everyone at Arbour Court is warm and friendly generating a very positive and peaceful atmosphere and the genuine care they give is excellent. Everyone is treated with such kindness and respect and they consistently ensure mum and all residents are given the help and support they need 24 hours a day. After looking at many other care homes I can honestly say this is the best."

"After reviewing about 30 homes in 2010, my son chose this home after 2 others had been tried and found wanting. They have looked after my wife (with Alzheimer's) superbly well, both on private money and now on state funding. There was no shortfall fee and all the staff are very helpful and caring and I have even learned some Tagalog with their help. We consider this the best in the area."

"My husband wasn't with you long, but the time he spent with you was quality. The staff couldn't have been more caring. "Everything" about Barchester Arbour Court Care Home was first class, I just wish he'd been there longer. They evoke kindness itself to me and I never felt alone. Their quiet, calm way of dealing with things was an inspiration. We as a family couldn't fault the care they provided. I would recommend Barchester Arbour Court Care Home to anyone who loves their family and wants complete all round caring."

"I haven't rated all option categories excellent solely due to the financial constraints Arbour Court have to work within, I'm in no doubt with sufficient resources staff and management would ensure all residents receive excellent care 24/7 365 days a year with excellent facilities and activities. I'm very impressed by the obvious dedication and commitment of staff and management to provide the highest level of care they can and how warm, welcoming and inclusive they are with residents and relatives. I'm confident my Dad is in the best possible, affordable alternative to his own home his condition necessitates. He settled in quickly, appears comfortable and content when we visit 2/3 times a week, hasn't once mentioned 'going home' or attempted to leave with us in the 4 months he's lived there."

"My husband is walking for England, when he first went in the home but the staff made sure he ate food walking about in there. They have always been wonderful people to look after him and keep him going. Unforunately because he fell over when walking he has now been in bed for 3 1/2 years because his body has deteriorated but unfortunately this is what happens in life. The new doctor who came to the practice 2 3/4 years ago is wonderful and comes to the care home to see all the residents individually."

"My father fell seriously ill some time ago and though staff in the hospital were kind and caring the way hospitals work meant he was moved around a lot growing confused and weak. Finally he was found to be too ill to return home but not able to benefit fro. further time on a ward. Thank goodness for Arbour Court. From his first day, over a year ago, he has known nothing but kindness, compassion and respect. His room is wonderfully personal and the whole place is well equipped to meet a range of needs. The food is fresh and the menu varied. It is not "home" but it is as close as we could wish. We are always made welcome and we have no doubt that this will continue."
