My wife's Aunt was resident at Arbour Court and from the moment she arrived her overall health improved. She was treated more like a family member than just a resident! The attitude of the staff was brilliant and they always ensured she was safe and comfortable. Any fall or incident was immediately reported to us and appropriate action taken.
I would recommend them without hesitation and would like to thank every member of staff that dealt with her and made her final years as good as they could have possibly have been. This is a senior home that was always clean and fresh to visit along with a friendly greeting.

I want to thank all the staff at arbour court for the care they gave to my nanna kathleen, I’m so glad we found her a place here, I couldn’t have wished for anymore than what you have done for her the efforts staff made to make sure my nanna was comfortable for her final days was heartwarming, although I can’t name everyone cailtlin, Aimee, James, Costa and lily I will never forget the comfort you gave to me during this difficult time you guys are angels, all of you are! All the staff at arbour court will always hold a special place in my heart! From the bottom of my heart I thank you all, couldn’t recommend this lovely home enough!

The last thing we wanted was for mum to go into a nursing home. Her health deteriorated and the decision was taken out of our hands.
Mum has settled extremely well at Arbour Court, this is a direct result of care and respect shown by all the staff. Mum feels safe and loved. She is always happy to see us but does not get upset when we leave. Despite having advanced dementia, she tells us that she receives wonderful care. She also tells us that meals are delicious; she has gradually put on weight since arriving over 12 months ago.
Mum also has advanced heart failure, kidney disease and other health issues. We feel the expert nursing care she receives has allowed us more time with her.
Provided it is safe to do so, the staff follow the resident’s lead, which avoids any unnecessary upset.
We are relieved and grateful that mum is receiving such wonderful care. Arbour Court is not just a nursing home, it is a home in the best sense of the word and the staff, whilst maintaining professionalism, have become family.

My stepdad went to Arbour Court for palliative care, the staff have been absolutely amazing and treated him with so much respect & kindness. They are so compassionate & genuine & went above & beyond to ensure his last days were the best they could be. He had a lovely room with a view of the garden & he could see & hear the birds singing. They extended their kindness to us as a family & gave us peace of mind that he was being treated well. We will be forever grateful to the staff, although he was only there for a few days it made the biggest difference, we cannot thank them enough

"The entire staff at Arbour Court are, without exception, brilliant, caring, professional, always cheerful and above all compassionate. They treat my husband with respect at all times and ensure he still has his dignity. The general manager and finance manager have been nothing but helpful. Although the fees are high, the home is good value for money because it gives the family peace of mind that our loved one is receiving the best of care. I cannot fault the home in any way. I would thoroughly recommend Arbour Court to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one."

"When my wife needed end-of-life treatment, my daughter and I visited Arbour Court. We were so impressed! The building was bright and clean and the staff warm and friendly. When my wife moved in, her room was nicely decorated, with good lighting and little touches, like photo frames provided. During all my visits over 5 weeks, I never saw residents treated with anything other than compassion and respect. My wife's team of carers were so caring and good-humoured, forming a lovely, even affectionate relationship with her and the family. A wonderful team of medical staff monitored her condition regularly and she received effective medication to control pain and distress. Her family and friends were also very well looked after; we could not have asked for better."

"Caring for my mum was an isolating experience - she looks well - she looks young - in shops & cafes, people had no time or patience for her & that experience isolated us both. Since Mum moved to Arbour Court, I no longer feel alone. I have 20/30 other people around me who understand and care! I became isolated from friends & family, & now I feel we've all become part of an extended family. The caring environment has benefited us all. Allowing residents to live with their dementia - live in their world is commendable - thanks."

"The resident and I value the fact he is allowed the choice of remaining in his room or going into the lounge. He is always clean and smartly dressed and the meals are nicely presented, looks and smell appetising. I've omitted to tick activities because I don't know if he participates? Unfortunately, the is often the aroma of urine in the corridor having low ceilings, carpets and enclosed corridors make it inevitable sometimes."

"My partner's mum has been at Barchester Arbour Court Care Home for the last seven months, her care is excellent, the staff are hard working and go over and above to make sure that all the residents are happy! They are also friendly when we go to visit."

"We would wish to thank the manager and all the staff who worked tirelessly to make Armed Forces Day a huge success. Our special thanks goes to the activities coordinator who facilitated this special event on behalf of the residents and their families. The singer was in fine voice, with the residents, as they remembered special moments with their loved ones and friends with the song, "We'll Meet Again". And meet again they certainly did; he met his old school chum from Tintwistle. Who has made his home at Arbour Court Care Home, Buxton Lane, Marple. People danced, waltzes, marched and waved flags. The whole event was followed by a delicious high tea, sandwiches, cream cakes and glasses of Prosecco (non-alcoholic) toasted the special day. We then all retired to the garden. To witness a beautiful rose tree being planted by a veteran of the Royal Signals Regiment and another veteran of the Royal Navy. What a terrific day! Hip, hip, hurray. Thank you."

"Mum has only been in the care of Arbour Court for a short time. The staff are helpful, caring and can't do enough to help. Mum and the rest of the family have been made very welcome and feel very happy with the care and understanding received. The compassion shown by staff members is excellent. We know it must be very difficult at times, but nothing seems too much trouble. Thank you to all staff members for your support."

"My wife was taken into Arbour Court one year ago. A difficult time for all due to Covid. Over that year I have found all the staff to be kind, caring and helpful. I have been particularly impressed by the Covid prevention measures put in place in general, and the extra precautions to handle times of greater need. I feel very comfortable with the care that my wife is receiving."

"Since mum became a resident at Arbour Court, she is now pleasantly muddled and very settled. This is down to the excellent loving care she has received. The staff know their patients as people, not statistics and because of that have the gift of “reading” the resident’s needs without waiting for the resident to tell them. I miss my mum but I don’t worry about her as I know she is safe and receiving the expert care that we could no longer give her in the family home."

I would like to thank all the staff for the utmost care and attention they gave to him during that time, which must have been difficult at times. They were always pleasant, and nothing was too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending Arbour Court."
