Activities at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

Prestbury Beaumont Gardening Club

We have had a busy start to our month here at Prestbury Beaumont; our Head Gardener and Activities Team collaborated to provide our residents with our bi-weekly Gardening Club! This week, we began preparing for spring by planting tulip and daffodil bulbs!

For residents that were unable to attend the activity, we provided them with their own pots to watch the bulbs grow and brighten up their rooms and promoting our whole home approach.

Researching Chinese Zodiac Signs for Chinese New Year

Our residents have been busy this week painting cherry blossoms and researching their Chinese Zodiac signs.

These have been fantastic activities, it is important we continue to support residents with their hobbies and interests, prior to coming to us at Prestbury. We had a really interesting discussion about the Chinese Zodiac and also had a go at Origami!

Keeping Active

Here at Prestbury Beaumont, it is very important that we keep active.

We regularly offer our residents a range of fitness sessions, this class was a great success! Lewis has been to us before at Prestbury Beaumont, his classes are always a really popular group activity! It is important that our residents remain active to preserve their physical and mental wellbeing.

A visit from Henrik

Here at Prestbury Beaumont, we are very lucky to have Henrik the Pet Therapy Dog come to visit us! He is always a big hit with our residents and staff! Henrik is an Italian Spinone, primarily a hunting breed. However their affectionate and docile temperaments make them excellent therapy dogs. John, Henrik’s owner and handler has done a fantastic job with his training and we really appreciate them taking the time to come and visit us at the home.

Starlings virtual talk

Across our services our residents have enjoyed a wonderful live virtual talk about starlings, one of the UK’s most gregarious birds, hosted by Rachel Dowse from The Royal Parks London.

Rachel examined our long history with this bird and the importance of common species to our lives. Our residents had the opportunity to find out more about the great murmuration and why we need to pay special attention to these beauties before it's too late.

The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.

Thank you gifts

Here at Prestbury Beaumont we pride ourselves in the delivery of high quality nursing care for older people in need of support in our community whilst supporting our residents and their families the freedom to continue to enjoy their customary lifestyle.  We also recognise that remaining active is a huge part of any individual’s well-being, and our day-to-day activities programme is arranged to suit everyone’s needs and preferences.  Our team were delighted to receive these beautiful bouquets as a thank you for a resident and their family following their respite stay. Thank you!
