Activities at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Harvest donation

Prestbury Beaumont care home took a “Whole Home Approach” to the cause inviting colleagues to an inter-department challenge to create their own special Harvest baskets which are being donated to the local food bank at St Bartholomew’s Church.

Cath Ritchie, General Manager said: “I am very glad to be taking part in this much needed community driven charity. We support many charities throughout the year & this is one of those that we cannot ignore.

Everyone has been very kind with their generous donations so far. It is because our local community is so important to us that we would like to be able to provide the donations of food as part of our forthcoming Harvest celebrations”.

The good life!

Residents of Prestbury have been busy growing their own plants and vegetables as part of the homes gardening club and life enrichment programme and residents were delighted with their recent crop of produce!

Resident, Alan enjoyed his time spent in the greenhouse with Chris, the gardener, sharing gardening tips throughout the afternoon!

Gardening Club

At Prestbury Beaumont we have two giant Monkey puzzle trees. Last week one of the trees dropped a seed pod while residents were in the garden. Chris the gardener, collected the seeds. He also brought in some hyacinth bulbs....

So we had a happy afternoon in the garden planting the seeds and bulbs into pots.

Canal trip on the Mary Sunley

Residents of Prestbury Beaumont took to the water with a canal trip on the ‘Mary Sunley’ canal boat.  The trip took in the glorious Cheshire countryside as the hills rolled by, residents also watched out for the wildlife.

It was a wonderful afternoon.

Musical mystery tour

Our homes had a brilliant time with curator Sarah Deters as she took us on a virtual ‘Music Through the Ages’ tour of St Cecilia’s Hall: Concert Room and Music Museum.

Our residents were thrilled to discover weird and wonderful musical instruments, hear their unusual sounds, and find out how instruments have changed over the last 500 years.

The virtual live event explored the world-renown collection of musical instruments on display at St Cecilia’s Hall, Scotland’s oldest concert hall.

Musical Fun

This week the residents at Prestbury Beaumont enjoyed being entertained by Jazz and Swing Singer Rich Swings. He enthralled us withhold favourites and some lesser known Jazz and big band songs. An enjoyable afternoon was spent as old times were remembered. Although dancing is difficult for most these days everyone sang along or tapped a beat.
