Activities at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

A Royal knees up!

We will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in style with a whole host of fun-filled activities, musicial entertainment and lots of fizz.

In recognition of the special occasion we will be welcoming family, friends and members of our local community to join us and Her Majesty has also put in a special appearance in advance of the big day!    Ahead of the celebrations, our residents and teams worked hard to decorate the home with colourful displays.

To make things even more exciting we have the chance to showcase our stylish royal decors and enter the #BarchesterJubilee competition to compete against Barchester homes up and down the country.

Book corner with Graham Whitlock

We had a lovely time joining Graham Whitlock for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘The Crystal Palace Chronicles: Star of Nimrod’.

Our residents were thrilled to find out more about the book and the fictional character Joe, who went on a rollercoaster adventure travelling back in time to the heyday of Victorian Crystal Palace.

Everyone had lots of fun during the virtual talk, as Graham took them on a clever and hilarious adventure. A great time was had by all.

Home honour Nursing team

Today we celebrated the anniversary of the birth of nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale, also known as International Nurses Day, by acknowledging our dedicated and hard-working nurses.  To mark the occasion and to say thank you, our talented chef prepared delicious treats and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.

We received numerous cards and recorded thank you messages from relatives, friends and the local community, which were displayed around the home and shared with the team to make the day extra special.  Every staff member at our home is going above and beyond. A big thank you to all.

Fruity afternoon

We treated our residents to a fruit cocktail afternoon where they got to indulge in a variety of different flavoured cocktails made from fresh fruits. Having them in the garden in the fresh air and under the sun was an extra bonus.

Everyone has truly had an amazing time. One of our residents, Daphne said, "She really enjoyed being with others having a great time and the cocktails are delicious.

Book corner with Henry Slator

We had a lovely time joining Henry Slator for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘Conversations at the Pond’.

Henry had an unusual writing journey, which many of our residents found inspiring, he underwent chemotherapy in early 2020, which allowed him to rediscover his light-hearted outlook on life by imagining conversations with creatures in and around his large garden pond and adding buckets of fun.

The entertaining Conversations at the Pond, with its mass of colourful illustrations, took our residents along his journey, they felt inspired, cheered and loved hearing all about Henry’s experiences.

A blooming display

The ladies used their creative flair to create wonderful displays to decorate their rooms and communal areas of the home for all to see in a flower arranging group.  It was a colourful session and conversation flowed as they talked about their favourite plants and flowers.
