Activities at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Happy Easter

We had a fantastic time over Easter and our residents were visited by not just one Easter bunny, but two! Our very own Beaumont Bunnies!

Our whole home worked together to deliver Easter Eggs to all our residents and their visitors!

Everyone was thrilled with their visits and really enjoyed the chocolate!

Gardening Club

Here at Prestbury Beaumont, we have our twice monthly gardening club, run by our Head Gardener and Activities Team.

This month we have been focusing on taking cuttings from our flowers used in the flower arranging group previously, we have made our own terrariums out of recycled plastic cups and plant pots! We then used rooting power to encourage the carnations root, the aim being that we can grow our own flowers for future flower arranging sessions! All our residents really enjoyed this project!

Intergenerational visit

Today at Prestbury Beaumont, we have had a lovely little visitor from a local school.

Rose brought her lamb in to show our residents; she also helped serve tea, coffee and cake! Everyone had a fantastic afternoon chatting about their own children and childhoods!

Happy knitters

At Prestbury Beaumont, we have been enjoying our creative chatter with our ‘Knit and Natter’ group activity.  Under the expert guidance of our new volunteer Jean, we have continued our work from our last session knitting for the premature babies.

It’s always lovely to see the mindfulness this activity evokes, we have listened to some wonderful stories told by our residents!

The great outdoors!

We have been doing our best the last couple of days to make the most of the sunshine at Prestbury Beaumont!

We have our weekly walking group as well as our individual physio-led exercise practice for strength and conditioning. We know keeping active is very important for our residents. Preserving and improving skills and abilities is an integral part of our activities schedule at the home.

Gardening club

This week at Prestbury Beaumont, we have been getting our hands dirty with Gardening Club!  We planted different varieties of sunflower seeds at the beginning of March …. Teddy Bear, Russian Giant and Velvet Queen are some of the varieties we sowed.

They have been growing really well, our residents obviously have green fingers! This week, they have become too big for their original pots, so we have been re-potting them and moved them outside to a sheltered spot.
