Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Marriott House is a wonderful place,
The people are lovely and are full of grace.
For breakfast, lunch and even dinner
The food's rather great and our chef's a winner
Whilst living here I’ve had a ball
All previous problems feel relatively small
Especially with the kindness of staff
It’s easy to find that my worries are halved.
Throughout the day, we keep ourselves busy
Which always stops us from getting in a tizzy
We sometimes write poetry or read a book

Foundation Week at Marriott House & Lodge
Marriott House and Lodge have been celebrating Foundation Week (13th to 18th June) with a Barchy Bear Bake Off and Big Breakfast for residents, families, friends and staff to take part in.
On Tuesday 14th June, staff were challenged to bake a cake to enter into the Barchester's Big Bake off, to raise money for the Barchester Foundation. The competition was extremely high with a variety of amazing recipes and designs. Each cake was judged by a panel of judges, prizes were awarded and everyone then enjoyed the cakes with their afternoon tea.
Flower Arranging at Marriott House & Lodge
On Tuesday 24th May, we celebrated the start of the Chelsea Flower Show with a day of flower arranging.
Mike Hammer Comes to Visit
Mike Hammer entertained residents, staff and visitors during this May's Birthday Tea Party. This tea party was for all residents who celebrated their birthdays during May.
