Irene Pudduck

Acting General Manager

Hi, my name is Irene and I am the Acting General Manager here at Marriott House & Lodge. Welcome to our website

I started work at Marriott House and Lodge in 1999 as a weekend Care Assistant. I have developed my skills and knowledge through the Barchester Training Academy, completing my NVQ 2, 3 and various training certificates. This has enabled me to work my way up to my current role as the Deputy Manager at the home.

I take pride in managing residents' day-to-day requirements and motivating the care team. Quality of care is always my top priority, and I strive to deliver the highest standard possible to those we support.

I also love to bring my dog, Monty, to work with me most days, and he is very much loved by residents, staff and visitors!

Denise Viviers

Senior Deputy Manager & Clinical Lead

I joined Barchester in July 2018 . Previously, I was manager of a care home with an overall 'Good' CQC rating. I have been Nursing for many years, having experience in the operating theatre, laboratory, and hospices, where I gained valuable knowledge from each.

I Lived in South Africa for 24 years until I returned to the UK in 2011, which is when I started working as a nurse. I embrace the challenge of nursing and I love being part of the team here at Marriott House and Lodge.

Senior Team Leader/Care Practitioner

I have worked at Marriott House for over 10 years. I have worked my way up through the ranks and I now head up the care team and coordinate the various teams in the home on a daily basis.

The Barchester Training Academy has helped me further my career; I completed my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care, and I am also a qualified NVQ assessor.

I support the care to to ensure that care is delivered with dignity and respect, putting residents at the centre of the support that we provide, with a guarantee that they can continue to live their lives in the way they wish.

Sarah Harding

Head of Activities/Care Practitioner

My name is Sarah and I have worked at Marriott House and Lodge for over 15 years in a variety of roles.

I began my Barchester journey as a Night Care Assistant in 2000. Through completing care qualifications, I progressed to Senior Care Assistant and, more recently, I have also adopted the responsibilties of a Care Practitioner as well. I have also been involved in activities within the home and have lead the Activities Team for many years. I have completed many training courses through the Barchester Healthcare Training Academy, which have further enhanced my skills in a range of areas, including, care, activities and providing training. I now share my time between being a Care Practitioner and leading the Activities Team.

Leading the Activities Team means that I work with a group of staff and volunteers to provide activities for the residents that help to keep them active and stimulated. My duties include planning events for residents and their families, organizing day-to-day activities, arranging outings, and also offering residents that very crucial one-to-one time. I work closely with local groups, meaning that Marriott House & Lodge remains a key part of the local community with regular visitors who offer support to families and friends.

I am very much involved in the ‘whole home approach’ in regards to the care we provide as a care home; my hands-on approach allows me to work closely with all members of the team and help them to develop their skills. 

Dignity in care is a particular area that I am always keen to promote within the home and I believe that we can all enhance the lives of residents.

In my spare time I enjoy being with my dog, Chester, who I bring to work with me most days. I also enjoy reading and spending time with my friends and family.

Lynn Hoare

Head Housekeeper

My Name is Lynn and I am responsible for the laundry and high standard of cleanliness of the home. I have worked at the Marriott’s for nearly 17 years and I have completed various training courses through Barchester Healthcare including my NVQ level 2 in Hospitality.

I lead the housekeeping team and as a team we take pride in providing a clean and home-like environment for all residents in communal areas and their own room.

In my spare time I enjoy my garden, and spending time with my family and grandchildren.
