Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
Hi, my name is Imelda, and I am the General Manager here at Marriott House & Lodge. Welcome to our website!
Having worked within the elderly care sector for over 20 years, I continue to retain passion and energy for supporting people in the twilight years. I believe it to be an honour to work with the elderly. I am committed to providing opportunities for people to achieve their aspirations, with no prejudice of age.
I have worked as a Registered Nurse/Deputy Manager and General Manager within a number of environments, both in East and West Sussex, together with Surrey.
I have 3 grown up children and 3 grandchildren, and have lived in Sussex all of my life.
I have witnessed first-hand the wonderful support that Marriott House & Lodge provides for residents, as I have previously worked here as a Clinical Development Nurse.
I look forward to taking the home further along its journey through future success and recognition for its existing high standards.
I began my Barchester journey as a Night Care Assistant in 2000. Through the completing of care qualifications, I progressed to Senior Care Assistant and, more recently, I have also adopted the responsibilities of a Care Practitioner.
I am also involved in activities within the home and I lead the activities team, a role that I have enjoyed for many years. I have completed many training courses through the Barchester Healthcare Training Academy, which have further enhanced my skills in a range of areas, including, care, activities and training provision. I now share my time between being a Care Practitioner and leading the activities team.
Leading the activities team means that I work with a group of staff and volunteers to provide activities for the residents that help to keep them active and stimulated. My duties include planning events for residents and their families, organizing day-to-day activities, arranging outings, and also offering residents that very crucial one-to-one time.
I work closely with local groups, meaning that Marriott House & Lodge remains a key part of the local community with regular visitors who offer support to families and friends.
I am very much involved in the ‘whole home approach’ in regards to the care we provide as a care home; my hands-on approach allows me to work closely with all members of the team and help them to develop their skills.
Dignity in care is a particular area that I am always keen to promote within the home, and I believe that we can all enhance the lives of residents. In my spare time I enjoy reading and spending my time with family, friends and 3 dogs!
I joined the team at Marriott House and Lodge in 1999. I have worked my way up through the ranks and I am now a Care Practitioner.
The Barchester Training Academy has helped me further my career and enabled me to complete various qualifications.
I support the nursing/care team and help to ensure that the residents receive high quality, person-centred care. Quality of care is always my top priority. I am also committed to ensuring that the residents can continue to live their lives in the way they wish.
In my spare time I enjoy baking, walking and spending time with my family and friends
I joined the team at Marriott House and Lodge as Administration Assistant in January 2020. I have experience in administration and customer service.
I thoroughly enjoy my work. My days are varied and it is such a pleasure working closely with the residents, relatives, friends and the staff at Marriott House and Lodge
I live in Chichester and I am married with 3 children and a beautiful dog called Nala. My family keep me very busy and spending time with my family and friends is very important to me.
I have been with Barchester since February 2019 at Marriott house and Lodge, and I have absolutely loved being part of such a fun and friendly team of staff and residents here.
I started my Barchester journey as a Care Assitant, and whilst I remain hands on, I have now moved into administration. Both diverse roles I thoroughly enjoy being a apart of; it gives me a great sense of enjoyment in my life, and I strive every day to make the residents and staff enjoy themselves as well. I live in Chichester and, in my spare time, I enjoy going out with my family and friends. I also like to try new things and I am happy to try a new hobby!
I joined the team at Marriott House in 2016 as a Senior Nurse. I have many years of nursing experience; before joining the team, I worked as a community nurse. I have a particular interest in wound care and end of life care.
I take pride in leading the nursing team to provide high quality care for the residents at Marriott House.
In my spare time I enjoy going out with friends and family, walking my two beautiful jobs, travelling either at home or abroad!
I live locally to Chichester and I joined the team at Marriott House and Lodge as Head Chef in 2021. I qualified as a chef in 1992 and served in the Royal Army for 24 years, both in service and as a head chef. After leaving the Army, I had an amazing experience of being able to take part in ‘MasterChef: The Professionals’ and reached the quarter finals.
I have also cooked for several members of the Royal Family, including the Queen, Prince Philip on his 90th birthday and the Countess of Wessex. My role is to provide a nutritionally balanced diet to our residents, with the odd sneaky treat thrown in. I enjoy planning menus catered around the residents’ favourite dishes, as well as trialing new and exciting dishes from around the world. I source and use fresh ingredients to prepare delicious, nutritionally balanced meals throughout the day for the various needs of the residents in our care. The dining experience is such an important part of life here at Marriott House and Lodge, and my daily interactions with residents to know their preferences and to receive feedback is paramount to everything so that I can provide a professional service to their satisfaction.
I am responsible for the laundry and high standard of cleanliness in the home. I have worked here since 1997
I have completed various training courses through Barchester Healthcare, including my NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality.
I lead the housekeeping team and, as a unit, we take pride in providing a clean and home-like environment for all residents in communal areas and their own rooms.
I live in Chichester with my husband and dogs. In my spare time in enjoy seeing my family and friends.

Maintenance is paramount when it comes to our residents, relatives and colleagues, and my role is to keep the home environment to the highest standards possible, ultimately creating a safe and warm place for our residents to live and my colleagues to work.
I love the variety that this role brings, from changing a light bulb to re-decorating one of the lovely rooms here at the home
I also manage and deal with contractors, keeping records up-to-date for our audits
My name is Claire and I became an Administration Assistant at Marriott House on the 13th January 2020. I thoroughly enjoy my work. My days are varied and it is such a pleasure working closely with the residents and the staff.
I am proud to be a volunteer at Marriott House and Lodge. I was privileged to be nominated and went on to be crowned Barchester Healthcare's National Volunteer of the Year in 2020.
It is my greatest pleasure to be able to support the home regularly. Throughout the week, I visit individual residents and support the team at Marriott House where I can. I have also been providing a religious service on a Sunday morning.
Barbara has lived at Marriott House since 2019 and was voted in by fellow residents to take on the role of Resident Ambassador.
The role includes supporting other residents to have a voice within the home. She will meet regularly with the management team and help enhance life at Marriott House and Lodge for all. They will also be involved in the homes community engagement team to help find ways of maintaining and enhancing community involvement.
Pat has lived at Marriott House for 2 years and was voted in by fellow residents to take on the role of Resident Ambassador.
The role includes supporting other residents to have a voice within the home. She will meet regularly with the management team and help enhance life at Marriott House and Lodge for all. She will also be involved in the home's community engagement team to help find ways of maintaining and enhancing community involvement.
