Wimborne is a picturesque single story house set in charming gardens close to all the local amenities of Hayling Island. It is a friendly purpose-built home providing care and support to frail older people and to people living with dementia.

Wimborne provides a programme of activities including outings and visits to local churches, pubs and community centres. There are also regularly scheduled groups activities and personally tailored one-to-one care planning, with life-skills work designed to promote independence and choice.

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am the General Manager here at Wimborne. Welcome to our website!

I head up a team of 42 highly trained care staff at our 47 bed care home. Prior to starting this position, I worked in healthcare for 20 years and have been with Barchester since 2009. I come to Wimborne with a wealth of experience, both in care and management.

Denise has worked for Barchester for the last 4 years starting as a carer then progressed as our Head of Care, where she supports her care team and drives the team in providing the best care and support to our residents.

Lynn and Kerry make up our energetic, spontaneous and fun-loving activities team. They see residents as an extension of their family and thoroughly enjoy the variety and rewards the job brings.

Head of Maintenance

Gary is responsible for the maintenance of the home and also the upkeep of the gardens.  Gary claims to be getting a great deal of job satisfaction and is looking forward to the opportunities that Wimborne will bring.

Toni Leworthy

Head Housekeeper

Toni started with Barchester in 1995 as a night carer and joined the housekeeping team in 2014.

Toni was quickly promoted to Head Housekeeper due to her high standards and attention to detail. She has the responsibility of managing both the housekeeping and laundry whilst ensuring the home is kept clean and tidy at all times.

Alex Bellocchio-Burnham

Head Chef

Alex has been with Barchester since 2012 and transferred to Wimborne in 2017 as Head Chef.

Alex is Italian with a background in high-end restaurants and hotels. Since joining the team, he has put his experience, skills and passion about nutrition to the service of those we support whilst promoting high standards and excellence in care.
