"My sister has been a resident at Wimborne Care Home for just over a year. During this time, I have found the home to be extremely supportive to both my sister and surrounding family and friends. The staff are always friendly and caring and are always available if I have any concerns. My sister is always included in the activities available if she wants to join in."

"My grandfather received regular respite care at Wimborne Care Home and the team was outstanding in the care they provided. It really was a 'home from home'. When his condition deteriorated rapidly, the amazing team took him for respite with only 24hrs notice and made his last few weeks comfortable and dignified. We are so glad that he died with his 'extended family', the team who cared about him and knew him so well and not another hospital or care home who would not have known him as well. They not only provided holistic end-of-life care to him but also advice and support to us as a family. I would wholeheartedly recommend the team at Wimborne who really go the extra mile for all their family."

"Mum has been a resident at Wimborne Care Home for four and a half years. The staff are first class, every one of them. This gives me great comfort knowing that Mum is in good hands. Their patience and care are a credit to them and to Barchester. Communication and access are excellent, there is always time for a chat or an update when required. There are plenty of activities and special days are always celebrated in style. Burns Night, Valentine's Day, Easter etc. So much effort put in by the staff. Thank you."

"My mother aged 93 and suffering from dementia settled here very quickly thanks to the lovely setting (like a high-class hotel), excellent food and respectful but friendly ambience. When she became seriously ill and no hospital place was available, she received excellent care in the home from the amazingly skilled and caring Wimborne team under the supervision of the GP. We can't thank them enough."

"The respite care that was given to my father was completely covered with such understanding for his every like and dislike. All his medical needs were met very professionally and with care. We could go away knowing that he was safe and happy. He enjoyed his stay very much. Liked the staff and the meals especially were high on his list. Very stressful and worrying time having to leave him but again the staff were lovely. Thank you again to all at Wimbourne Hayling Island."

"The staff at Wimborne are to me its greatest asset. My mother has been in Wimborne for nearly four years and during that time her carers have for the most part been a stable staff who my mother has grown familiar with. Whenever you arrive, leave or walk through the home, you are greeted by familiar, cheery faces who have managed to make my very shy mother feel safe and relaxed. I am very grateful for the way everyone has contributed to this warm and positive atmosphere. I have huge respect and gratitude for what you have done and continue to do for my mother and us. Please keep it up! Thank you."

"My mother spent her last 13 months at Barchester Wimborne Care Home and was confined to bed throughout that time. She was loved by all the staff and very well looked after by dedicated carers, the catering staff went out of their way to ensure mum was given nutritious food and everyone made her as comfortable as possible. My mother’s health progressively deteriorated but the carers’ dedication to look after her did not falter one iota. Barchester Wimborne offers comfortable décor, fixtures and fittings. A modernisation programme will start in 2022. My mother peacefully passed away at the Wimborne recently. In collecting her belongings, the genuine sadness and love expressed by many carers and staff bore witness to my decision to place mum in this lovely caring community. I cannot thank everyone enough at Barchester Wimborne for looking after my mother’s every need and making her stay as pleasant as possible."

"My father went to Wimbourne for 2 weeks respite care. He had not been in a care home setting before and as he has dementia we were anxious as to how this would work for him. From the very first telephone contact, the staff were brilliant. They answered questions, explained the setting and care, putting our minds at ease. My husband and I were then invited on a visit where time was taken to talk matters over with us. The 2-week respite went very well. Dad adjusted quickly and every effort was made to make him feel at home and cared for. An excellent experience for us all."

"My father has been a resident at Barchester Wimborne Care Home since December 2019. He had previously stayed at the home for respite care. but asked to return there permanently. The staff are professional, unfailingly kind, thoughtful and cheerful. Dad loves the food and joins in with the many activities on offer. I know that he is safe and well cared for in a lovely setting. Wimborne is a gem and I would highly recommend it."

"The most important aspect is the people. The staff at Barchester Wimborne Care Home genuinely care for the residents and they do an amazing job with the resources at their disposal. Our mum is well looked after, and the team keep us informed and contact us when needed. The great standard of care is very evident in the staff because, we can see the care given to all residents, especially if you turn up at short notice. Mum is generally in good spirits and keeps well. We are very pleased with our decision to use Wimborne."

"I cannot praise this care home highly enough. It is a very friendly and professional establishment, and all their staff are so thoughtful and caring. The quality of care is excellent, and staff carry out their work in such a cheerful manner. My mother has been a permanent resident since early October 2020, to date, and despite being confined to bed, she is very well looked after. The home operates with a real community spirit, and staff are responsive and attentive to her needs. It takes a certain type of person with the right attributes to work in a care home, and Barchester Wimborne has them in abundance. It is extremely well run and managed, and all staff are a credit to their profession. Food is freshly cooked on the premises, and no matter if it has to be served pureed, minced, or normal, it is catered for. Throughout this awful Covid-19 pandemic I have been impressed with Barchester Wimborne's emphasis on hygiene controls, staff and visitor testing measures, and the use of PPE to mitigate risk."

"My father moved to Wimborne from Scotland after losing his wife. Throughout his 8 month stay, he has been looked after extremely well by all the staff. The home is well run and beautifully furnished. I can recommend the home in every way."

"The care home was very welcoming to my husband and showed concern for me. Because of COVID restriction, I was not able to visit as much as we could have wished which made my husband (and me) unhappy. Any visits we could have were made as comfortable as possible by the very attentive staff. Thank you."

"My mother has been a resident at Wimborne since July 2019. What stood out for us about this care home was its unique layout, with all rooms being on the ground floor, and being light and airy. There is a sense of freedom within a contained environment. The staff are all very professional, kind, helpful, and welcoming, and Mum particularly enjoys helping with the plants and gardening, as she always used to do in her own home. Mum recently celebrated her birthday here, and the staff made a special effort to organise a spectacular birthday cake and tea in the garden. Wimborne introduced Skype calls to residents for relatives during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the activities co-ordinator was very efficient and helpful in organising these for us. I know Mum is safe and being cared for in a very pleasant setting, and I'm glad we discovered Wimborne."

"Our initial contact with the staff was extremely helpful - communication was excellent. After her initial period of settling in, my cousin was very happy and enjoyed the food and mixing with other residents. The staff were always pleased to help in any way, with phone calls, etc. I am so happy for my cousin that she had a positive but brief encounter with Wimborne."

"Dad has been looked after by the lovely staff at Wimborne for four years now, he is declining, but the care he receives is constant. Staff really take an interest and get to know their residents. "My mum is very content at Wimborne. The general atmosphere of the home is happy and friendly and this is down to the staff. The residents are treated with respect and the staff go above and beyond to make sure they are comfortable and happy. The activities staff work incredibly hard to ensure that the activities are varied and fun and they are constantly planning special events to include the residents and their families, which promotes quality time for the family. As well as the main meals, the tea trolley comes round to every room with morning coffee and tea in the afternoon, complete with homemade cake, which I think is a lovely touch and I know Mum looks forward to it. A snack is also brought round in the evening. I'm very happy with Mum's care at Wimborne."

"My wife suffers from dementia and has been in Wimborne Care Home for 16 months. I visit her every day and find she is being looked after with a caring and dedicated staff who treat her with great respect and dignity and I have nothing but praise for all of them who are doing a different and worthwhile job. The gardens are kept in great order and her private room is always clean and warm. The food is of the highest quality and is always served in a friendly atmosphere. All in all, it is like one happy family."

"A friendly, caring environment where residents choose to use communal lounges which are always well staffed. Any concerns, no matter how small will be acted upon. Very professional staff very quickly understood my mother´s needs. Every effort is made to make the residents feel safe and at home. You can be sure of a warm reception from all the staff. The family always feels part of the home. My mother is settling in well and beginning to accept this new stage in her life. The rooms are nicely arranged around the quadrangles and gardens to give a quiet personal space for those who require it."

"The only element that I would suggest would be a locked cupboard for any valuables/purses and the staff and daughter keep a key. Other than that, this home is absolutely amazing and the staff are so very kind and caring to my mother."

"My mum lived here for 9 months before she returned to Wales. The care she received was outstanding, she felt she was on holiday and said it was the loveliest place she had ever stayed and the staff were so lovely with her. The activities staff are exceptional, they knew exactly what mum liked doing and always went out of their way to make sure she was as occupied as possible. The food was outstanding and so well presented, the residents were treated like five star hotel guests."

"Wimborne Care Home has a lovely caring atmosphere. The ladies and gents always look very content and are treated with respect and care. There is a lovely open plan dining room and lounge area where activities take place, so the residents can take part or observe as they wish. Bedrooms and public areas are always very clean and mealtimes are a real treat with menus on the tables and a good selection of food."

"My mother has been an in client at this home for the past 2 years plus. I cannot recommend this home and Barchester Care enough. The kindness and care given to my mother as an individual has been excellent. They will do anything for her at any time of the day. Two members of staff in particular are absolutely marvellous to my mother particularly when she is difficult. I would be extremely upset if I had to remove my mother from Wimborne."

"My mother has been a resident here for 3 years and is now 106 years old. She has always been treated with kindness and dignity and the staff enjoy looking after her. She is no longer mobile and staff are always popping in and out of her room to check her. She always eats her food that is carefully prepared for her and has to be fed. I visited many care homes and chose very carefully and have not been disappointed. All the staff are very kind and appear to enjoy looking after her. I am so lucky and so is she!"

"I visited many care homes before we brought mum to Wimborne Care Home. I must say I was most impressed with it here. The staff have been so caring and kind to my mum especially recently when she was quite poorly and admitted to hospital she spent three weeks in bed in hospital came back to Wimborne and the next day I was so impressed to find her up washed and sat in her chair. Mum loves all the staff even though she gets grumpy at times. I couldn't wish for better care for mum as I know how hard it must be sometimes for the staff but they never show anything but kindness and to top it all the food is excellent."

"My mother has been a resident at Wimborne Care Home for about 7 months now after being at another care home in Chichester for six years. Wimborne Care Home exceeds our expectations. The décor is wonderful, bright and cheery. The carers are absolutely wonderful and caring is not enough to describe them; they are so loving to my mother. I put all this down to the manager. "Most of the time I'm very happy here just sad at times as I can't do what I used to be able to. I find all the girls (staff) kind and helpful and caring! The food is very good and I enjoy my dinners although I don't want to eat much, my family and friends are always made welcome, and can eat with me whenever they like. I like to sit at the window and watch the birds and listen to my music. I know if I want anything I just have to call one of the staff."

"My Mother has lived here for 6 years and has been settled and happy in that time. The members of staff are warm and caring and her needs now exceed those normally expected from a residential care home. The staff have accommodated the changes in her condition following a seriously debilitating stroke and in a number of serious illnesses. We are very pleased with the standard of care."

I myself came from Brighton and as much as it is a difficult journey I was never able to find a home on the same high standard of care. "I loved this home the moment I walked in, it feels like someone's own home and not at all like an institution. The staff know their residents really well and are committed to making them feel like individuals with stories to tell and personalities to preserve. It's bright, airy and cleverly laid out to give all rooms a view onto patios or gardens. The general manager and the administrator are simply shining, warm caring and fun!"

"I looked at several "Homes " before I came across Wimborne it ticked all the boxes and was the only home viewed by my mother that she was enthusiastic about. It was a huge step after living on her own for many years, it took a while to settle but she is now enjoying it. Wimborne has a homely feel to it and is all on one level, the management and staff go out of their way to make it. The food is excellent and all cooked from fresh, there is also an activities programme throughout the week. The staff are always cheerful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble to make the residents comfortable."
