Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home

Wig Wednesday

Wig Wednesday

Staff and residents at Marriott House & Lodge in Chichester took part in Wig Wednesday for CLIC Sargent.

Residents and staff were all very supportive and helped us raise over £20.00 for CLIC Sargent.

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. They are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement

Weekly Book Meetings

Weekly Book Meetings

Our Activities Coordinator, Amy, has been holding weekly book discussion sessions. The group are currently reading through Pride and Prejudice, which is proving to be a huge success! They are spending time at the beginning of each session recapping where they have got up to, and they then discuss what they have read during the afternoon. All residents are welcome to attend.

Creative Talks: The Chelsea Flower Show & Fashion on the Kings Road

Creative Talks: The Chelsea Flower Show & Fashion on the Kings Road

On Thursday 5th May, we enjoyed a visit from Creative Talks. This month's talk was about 'The Chelsea Flower Show & Fashion on the Kings Road'. The hour-long talk included a discussion about the history of the topics. We experienced this through music, pictures and films. The talk provoked lots of discussion and reminiscence. The June talk will be on Thursday 9th June at 11am and will be entitled 'Queen Elizabeth II - A Celebration'.
