Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Equestrian Entertainment
On Wednesday 24th August, the residents asked to go and visit some horses, so we arranged to go and see Jades, one of Our Carer's horses. We travelled on the minibus and had a lot of fun with the equestrian wonder.
Spa Afternoon
Residents of Marriott House and Lodge love being pampered, so we hold regular spa afternoons, where residents can enjoy foot spas, manicures and some well-deserved pampering!
Gentle Exercises with Jenny
Hostess, Jenny, regularly holds gentle exercise sessions for residents at the home. Marriott House and Lodge has a complete whole-home approach to events and activities, so it is also nice to see other departments getting involved. This activity is always well-attended and enjoyed by all!
August Team Quiz
On Wednesday 17th August, Marriott House and Lodge held its Team Quiz, which was as popular as ever. This month's quiz had 4 categories, including the ocean, travel, drinks and general knowledge!
The teams huddled together and chose their team names. The competition was fierce during the question rounds and a prestigious trophy and rosettes were awarded to the winning team.
Well done to all that joined us! Next month’s quiz will include a music round and some more general knowledge.

Trip to Bishop Palace Gardens
Residents of Marriott House and Lodge enjoyed a visit to Bishop Palace Gardens for a game of bowls and a picnic on the 12th August 2016.
Our New Music System
We used some of the money raised at the summer fete to purchase a new music system, which also has a built-in karaoke system and disco lights!
We have already had several sing along sessions and the residents would like to eventually start their own choir group!
