Activities at Friston House Care Home
Our activity coordinators are constantly working to stimulate our residents both mentally and physically by organising group and individual activities for every one within the home to participate in. We have regular outings in our mini bus to various attractions within the area and in the summer we like to take our residents to the seaside, where they can enjoy fish and chips by the beach. Our activity programme is just one of the important aspects of the care home and we try our best to arrange the activities that our residents will enjoy.

I am David, I have been working at Friston House since December of 2023.
I have a background in the visitor attraction sector as an events and activities manager, working with families to create engaging, fun activities that result in long-lasting memories. It is my belief that care home activities should be just as fun, engaging, inclusive to all and worthwhile. Either as a group, self-led or on a one-to-one basis.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Richard Ralph - Musical Entertainer
Richard Ralph paid us a visit recently and played the keyboards, sang some great songs and even made balloon animals for everyone.
Burns Night
Paul visited on Burns Night to play the pipe for us. Everyone had a wonderful and enjoyed the delicious haggis, neeps and tatties!
Chinese New Year
A great time was had by all when we celebrated Chinese New Year last month with Chinese fans and handmade lanterns.
Christmas Party 2016
We had a brilliant evening celebrating Christmas in true style with a festive buffet laid on by our Head Chef, Andy. There was also brilliant entertainment from the charismatic Jobe, as always! With lots of dancing and singing, laughter was not in short supply. Thank you to everyone who came to the party.
Residents Award Ceremony
Here at Friston House, we thought that we'd celebrate the fact that we have some truly amazing and talented residents.
Voting had been underway for over a month, with votes coming in from relatives, staff & friends. There were 6 categories: Best Dressed, Best Singer, Best Dancer, Funniest & Wittiest, Best Story Teller & Quiz King or Queen. We had such a wonderful afternoon; thank you to everyone who took part in the voting and to those who attended our special event. Congratulations to all of our winners and we hope you all had as much fun as we did.
20 Years of Service
We celebrated Mary Smith working at Friston House for two whole decades in August. Mary was presented with the award by General Manager, Linda Donovan.
