Winchester House Care Home in Rochester

Winchester House is a perfect home from home, located in the beautiful countryside of Tonbridge and Malling, close to the historic city of Rochester and the Medway Towns. Formerly a rectory constructed in 1875, Winchester House has been tastefully restored to provide elegant surroundings across 5 separate units.  We provide 24-hour nursing care alongside specialist care for people with dementia in our two dedicated Memory Lane Communities. These communities are designed to be dementia friendly and promote well-being for individuals as well as providing stimulating activity areas.

We're proud of our socially active community which revolves around superb facilities alongside first-rate care. Our team of activities coordinators offer a wide range of activities, which includes singing sessions, cake making, film sessions, games, quizzes and regular outings for all of our residents

We would be delighted to show you around so that you can see what we have to offer for yourself – please feel free to drop in or to call us if you would like advice.

Meet our dedicated team at our open day, who can answer any questions you may have about our home.

We also specialise in person-centred nursing and residential care for those living with dementia. Our care is tailored to individual needs and promotes independence wherever possible. The care we offer is very responsive should someone's care needs change, and our close links with local health and social care services mean that we are very adaptable whilst always focusing on the individual and maintaining high standards.

Sandra Verrell

General Manager

Hi, my name is Sandra and I am the General Manager here at Winchester House. Welcome to our website!

I have been a Registered Nurse since 1983 and have over 20 years experience of working with the elderly, including more than 15 years as a care home manager. I studied for and obtained my Registered Manager Award in 2004.

At each of the care homes I have worked at, or managed, I feel that I have been able to make a difference to improving the quality of care for residents and have been able to influence other team members to share my passion for high quality care – and this is something that I plan to continue at Winchester House.
