Activities at Friston House Care Home
Our activity coordinators are constantly working to stimulate our residents both mentally and physically by organising group and individual activities for every one within the home to participate in. We have regular outings in our mini bus to various attractions within the area and in the summer we like to take our residents to the seaside, where they can enjoy fish and chips by the beach. Our activity programme is just one of the important aspects of the care home and we try our best to arrange the activities that our residents will enjoy.

I am David, I have been working at Friston House since December of 2023.
I have a background in the visitor attraction sector as an events and activities manager, working with families to create engaging, fun activities that result in long-lasting memories. It is my belief that care home activities should be just as fun, engaging, inclusive to all and worthwhile. Either as a group, self-led or on a one-to-one basis.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Friston House Care Home
Bullseye!
We have had great fun here at Friston House playing darts. Our residents from all areas of the home joined in! Even those residents that are in bed had a go during one-to-one time.
Garden Party Crafts
We recently held our summer garden party here at Friston. Staff and residents crafted various buntings to be displayed in the garden. Everyone was excited to spend the day in the sun, eating sweet treats. It was a lovely day.
Mad Hatters Tea Party
We recently held our Mad Hatters tea party as a part of our monthly intergenerational programme. Residents enjoyed the various characters from Alice in Wonderland and loved their costumes.
Everyone was chatting, eating cakes and drinking tea. The event even got featured in the Medway Messanger.
Storm King Entertainment
Yet again another great performance from our entertainer Storm King! Keeping our residents entertained and providing fun activities in this hot weather, the Storm King gets our residents singing, jiving and sometimes even dancing!
Bingo Session
We love having a bingo game with prizes. Residents love having a chance to win a prize and mark off their numbers. Some residents even win more than once!
Card Making
Here at Friston House we had a great time making cards for our loved ones! We designed handmade birthday cards, as a thank you gift for friends, families and residents.
