Sandra Verrell
Hi my name is Sandra Verrell and I am the General Manager at Friston house. Welcome to our website.
We pride ourselves on the dedicated, person centred care that we deliver here at Friston House for both our resident's and their loved ones.
I am passionate nurse and a leader who is dedicated to delivering excellent care to our residents through a well-supported, skilled and supported teams. My role as General Manager is to support the team in providing person-centred care and to make sure our residents feel safe and comfortable in their home.
I have been a Registered Nurse since 1983 and have over 27 years' experience of working in the care home environment, including more than 17 years as General Manager.
My team and i look forward to welcoming you to Friston House for a cup of tea and a slice of our famous home made cake

Ana Pasoi
Hi, I’m Ana, Former Head of Unit on Nightingale Walk and now the new Deputy Manager.
I graduated as a nurse back in Romania in 2015, and arrived in the UK in the same year, when I started my nursing career.
I joined Friston House in May 2019. I have a passion for caring for the elderly, and that makes my job so interesting and fulfilling. My aim is to ensure that the residents in my care enjoy the highest standard of care and that they are always comfortable and safe.

Adela Lupu
I have a passion for nursing and it was always my aim to qualify as a registered nurse which I achieved in 2015.
I have worked here at Friston House since 2019 as a Senior Nurse and in 2022 went on to become the head of unit in Memory Lane.
I enjoy caring for others, promoting their comfort and wellbeing. I am enthusiastic about implementing a new dementia care approach, supporting residents to have a good quality of life in a safe environment and ensuring a high standard of care is provided at all times.

Charley Small
I started my career in health and social care at 17, mostly within dementia care. I am passionate about improving the life of those I care for and my aim is to support my residents to lead fulfilling lives ensuring they still have all their individual needs catered for.
I have worked here at Friston House since 2017. Initially I was the homes Care Practitioner which gave me a lot of experience on the nursing floors and learning clinical duties. Now as head of unit of Phoenix rise I aim to continue to deliver a high standard of care and promote my residents wellbeing.

Tracy Richards
I have previously worked in retail for over 30 years, working my way up to management level, dealing in payroll, HR and the financial side of the business. I am very excited to be joining Barchester and look forward to working with everyone and helping in any way I can.

Bridie Birrell
Hello, my name is Bridie Birrell and I am the Lifestyle Coordinator here at Friston House. I started working at Friston in February 2019. It is my job to ensure residents are getting an enriched lifestyle and ensure we are providing activities that cater to everyone's needs and interests. I make it my duty to get to know residents on a one-to-one basis so I can find activities that they will enjoy and benefit from.

Abin Babu
I am Abin, the Head Chef here at Friston House. I have enjoyed working as a professional chef over a period of 10 years. I have chosen the care sector and find it to be a very rewarding environment. I am passionate about cooking, with my specialist skill being desserts and pastries.

Tracy Hitchen
I have worked here at Friston House since 2011 as the Senior Housekeeper. My team support me in keeping Friston House spic and span.

Janine Payne
Hi, I’m Janine, Admin Assistant and the homes Wellbeing Champion, I am the first point of call for enquiries and often will be the one to help guide you if your loved one is coming into our home. As Wellbeing Champion I am responsible for helping staff with any concerns they may have regarding their work, mental health or anything they may need guidance with. If you have any questions, I am the friendly face to help you at the Reception Desk.
