Meet the Friston House Care Home Team

Hi, I’m Ana, Former Head of Unit on Nightingale Walk and now the new Deputy Manager.

I graduated as a nurse back in Romania in 2015, and arrived in the UK in the same year, when I started my nursing career.

I joined Friston House in May 2019. I have a passion for caring for the elderly, and that makes my job so interesting and fulfilling. My aim is to ensure that the residents in my care enjoy the highest standard of care and that they are always comfortable and safe.

I have a passion for nursing and it was always my aim to qualify as a registered nurse which I achieved in 2015.
I have worked here at Friston House since 2019 as a Senior Nurse and in 2022 went on to become the head of unit in Memory Lane.
I enjoy caring for others, promoting their comfort and wellbeing. I am enthusiastic about implementing a new dementia care approach, supporting residents to have a good quality of life in a safe environment and ensuring a high standard of care is provided at all times.

My name is Ewa and I am a Care Practitioner who is currently undertaking Degree for Assistant Practitioner. I am also acting as a Community Manager on Phoenix Rise Community. I have long experience in Health and Social Care supported by national qualifications. I am passionate about my role and residents wellbeing.

I am progressing in my career and developing knowledge and skills. I am dedicated to my residents and aim to improve quality of life and provide safe environment. I want to maintain friendly atmosphere for all residents and their families and support them to feel comfortable at Friston House.

I am with Barchester since December 2020 and enjoy to work with experienced and excellent team of nurses and care staff.

My Name is Lijo Jacob and I have got nearly four years of nursing experience. My previous work experience is in the acute cardiac ward and intermediate rehabilitation centre. I have graduated as a nurse in 2020 and have qualified from Brighton University. Alongside, I have got a master’s degree in MSC Finance from Leeds Beckett University and have worked in the finance sector before joining in to healthcare services. I originally from India and had come to the UK in 2007.

I have joined Friston House as a Manager of our Memory Lane Community in November 2023 and have a passion for caring for the elderly, and that makes my job very interesting and fulfilling. The motive is to ensure that all the residents receive personal centre care, safety, and dignity to be maintained at all times. It is also important that to ensure that effective communication is maintained during all times between multi-disciplinary team and residents family/NOK.

I am Joemar. I have been working in social services in various settings since 2013. I just know in my heart that this is my calling. I am excited to join Friston House as Administrator. I will provide the management team with the support they require to ensure the running of a high quality and commercially successful home.

I am David, I have been working at Friston House since December of 2023.

I have a background in the visitor attraction sector as an events and activities manager, working with families to create engaging, fun activities that result in long-lasting memories. It is my belief that care home activities should be just as fun, engaging, inclusive to all and worthwhile. Either as a group, self-led or on a one-to-one basis.

I am Abin, the Head Chef here at Friston House. I have enjoyed working as a professional chef over a period of 10 years. I have chosen the care sector and find it to be a very rewarding environment. I am passionate about cooking, with my specialist skill being desserts and pastries.

Hi, my name is Ryan and I am Head of Maintenance at Friston House. I started in March 2021 and I am enjoying working for Barchester I started off as an Maintenance Assistant and I have worked myself up to Head of Maintenance.

In my spare time I like to go on walks and spend time with my family.

Hi, I'm Donah.

I have worked at Friston since November 2022 doing both Laundry and Housekeeper and was recently promoted to Senior Housekeeper.

I like to ensure the home is kept tidy and cleaning standards are maintained at all times by both myself and the rest of the team. In my spare time I enjoy arts and crafts and often can be found drawing when not at work.

Hi, I’m Janine, Admin Assistant and the homes Wellbeing Champion, I am the first point of call for enquiries and often will be the one to help guide you if your loved one is coming into our home. As Wellbeing Champion I am responsible for helping staff with any concerns they may have regarding their work, mental health or anything they may need guidance with. If you have any questions, I am the friendly face to help you at the Reception Desk.
