Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

Life at Chater Lodge Care Home
Gavin Visits Again!
On 5th September, Gavin Burke came to visit Chater again - and he didn’t disappoint!
Residents, staff and relatives enjoyed singing and dancing along with him - it was such a great atmosphere!
He was highly entertaining and the residents are already asking when he'll be coming back.
Thanks, Gavin!
Employee of the Month - August
Our Kitchen Assistant, Margaret Dwyer, was named Employee of the Month for August.
Margaret was nominated for her hard work; when our dishwasher broke and staff had to step in to help, they realised just how difficult her job really is!
From all the staff and residents here at Chater Lodge: congratulations - it was well-deserved!
Garden Time
We had a great day in the garden, planting some pansies with the residents. They really enjoyed sitting in the sun and showing off their gardening skills - the end product was fabulous!
40th Anniversary
Resident, Sonia, celebrated 40 years of wedded bliss yesterday with a card and flowers from her husband, David.
