Tixover House Care Home in Rutland
We are located in Rutland, and our home is easily accessible from Oakham, Stamford, Oundle and Corby. It is surrounded by 14 acres of beautiful countryside and is an integral part of the rural community, with strong links to surrounding villages. Tixover House provides high quality nursing and residential care for older people, including those with dementia. We also offer respite care and short breaks, which can now be booked up to a year in advance.
Tixover House's dedicated Memory Lane Community provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.
Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
Care is provided by friendly, experienced and well-trained staff, who focus on the individual and support residents in maintaining their own interests and hobbies.

From gardening and music, to outings or just a cup of tea and a friendly chat – there’s something for everyone!
We have a strong sense of community within our home and are confident you’ll find our home ideally situated to meet your needs. The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.
Hello, I am Kerry, the Manager at Tixover House. I joined Barchester in 2017 and am an experienced member of the regional leadership team.
I have management qualifications and have many years' experience of managing care homes before coming to Barchester. I enjoy building relationships with residents and their families, responding to individual care needs and reassuring relatives that their loved one is in good hands at Tixover House.
I believe it is also vital for me to build good working relationships with all team members at our home, making sure they feel confident and supported in their roles. I like to guide staff by setting an example of how to provide care and support with the utmost dignity.
On a daily basis I seek to enrich residents' lives by making sure we offer a choice of activities, conversation and entertainment.Get in touch Meet my team
