Tixover House Care Home in Rutland
Tixover House provides high quality residential and nursing care for older people, including those with dementia. We are located in Rutland, and our home is easily accessible from Oakham, Stamford, Oundle and Corby. The home is surrounded by 14 acres of beautiful countryside and is an integral part of the rural community, with strong links to surrounding villages.
Our warm and inviting residential communities provide the comforts of home with 24-hour support. Predominantly residential, our home provides nursing care, and facilities meaning should your needs change, you can remain in familiar surroundings, with the same standards of care, and staff.
We have a strong sense of community within our home and are confident you’ll find our home ideally situated to meet your needs. Whether you require long-term or short-stay care, respite breaks can be pre-booked up to 12 months in advance.
Residential Care
Our warm, comfortable and cosy facilities are combined with highly trained staff to ensure that each and every individual is given superior attention. Our 24-hour care is provided in a warm and welcoming environment, with delicious meals and daily activities, including a choice of therapeutic approaches.
Activities are key to the residents wellbeing and as such we believe in providing a wide range of daily activities to ensure our residents are engaged, active and celebrating life here at Bloomfield. Whether a resident enjoys art, live music, gardening, flower arranging or trips out, it is all undertaken to ensure our resident’s time here is enjoyable and relaxing.
Dementia Care
Tixover House's dedicated Memory Lane Community provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.
Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.
Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.
Care is provided by friendly, experienced and well-trained staff, who focus on the individual and support residents in maintaining their own interests and hobbies.
Our full-time activities coordinators are committed to ensuring that all residents continue to live a full and active lifestyle, facilitating varied and stimulating ways to enjoy their days. From gardening and music, to outings or just a cup of tea and a friendly chat – there’s something for everyone!
We have a strong sense of community within our home and are confident you’ll find our home ideally situated to meet your needs. We warmly welcome visitors, so if you would like to arrange to look around our home or find out more, please contact one of our team members, who will be delighted to take your call.

Our 'Paying to live in a care home' guide is designed to try and help you understand more about the funding options available and what to consider when choosing a care home.

Ive Alexander
Hi, My name is Ive and I am the General Manager here at Tixover House. Welcome to our website.
We treat people with dignity and respect. As a qualified nurse myself, I’m passionate about the care we provide and use all my skills and experience to support my colleagues in providing our residents with a quality lifestyle and excellent care.
Originally from India, I joined Barchester as an overseas nurse, and with first class mentoring and training, I progressed to home manager at Tixover House.
