Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Jo & Julie

Activities Coordinators

Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

Residents enjoyed a bit of yoga therapy! Everyone had lots of fun.

Divisional Carer of the Year

Congratulations to Louise Devlin, who has been named as a Divisional Winner in the 2020 Barchester Care Awards. Louise is a finalist in the Carer of the Year category and has been invited to attend a virtual awards ceremony on 8th October, where she will find out if she has won overall.

Carers Week

For Carers Week, the carers and staff from Awel-Y-Mor loved sweetie day and an afternoon of fruit and a chocolate fountain, which tasted yummy!

Beach Party

The staff and residents from Awel-Y-Mor enjoyed our beach-themed party. The sun decided not to shine outside, but there was a lot of sunshine inside! Residents dressed up in their brightest T-shirts and enjoyed their cocktails and BBQ whilst listening to happy holiday music.
