Our team

Our team at Plas-Y-Dderwen are always keen to welcome new residents into the home. Meet the team boards are located at reception so that residents and visitors are able to easily become familiar with the support team. Each staff member involved in our support system will introduce themselves and strive to ensure that needs are met to a high standard. This could be anything, from assistance in personalising rooms to ensuring that residents have a fulfilled day, or aiding with simple day-to-day tasks, such as making sure they have access to a newspaper at all times. The continued dedication and empathy of our staff team means that each resident is treated with dignity and respect, and that individuality is maintained, in a happy and fun-filled environment.

Sharon Herbert

General Manager

Welcome to Plas-Y-Dderwen, my name is Sharon, and I am the General Manager here.

I Joined Barchester Healthcare in January 2015 as Head of Unit for the General unit which consists of 32 residents. I became General Manager in January 2016. I have undertaken my Registered General Nurse training and qualified in 1994. The majority of my nursing career has been spent in the community, supporting individuals with complex care needs and management of a diverse team of care workers and nurses. I am very passionate about care delivery and strive to deliver the highest standard of care to all our residents.

My role here at Plas Y Dderwen is to ensure that the residents that we support are treated with individuality, dignity and respect whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable and homely environment. To enable me to do this I also have to ensure a happy, motivated and highly skilled team who share the same passions as myself.
