Plas-Y-Dderwen is a purpose built care home in the peaceful village of Johnstown near Carmarthen.

We provide high quality 24-hour nursing and residential care with a separate dedicated facility for people living with dementia. We also provide a service for people with a physical disability.

General Manager

Hi, my name is Nicki Hockly and I am the General Manager here at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home. Welcome to our website!

I have worked for Barchester Healthcare since 2009 across three homes and became the Deputy Manager here in February 2018, then General Manager January 2019.

I am passionate about my job and am an advocate for promoting person-centered care for the individuals we support. I offer guidance and support to our team of Nurses, Senior Carers and Care Assistants, with the aim of providing a happy, friendly and welcoming workplace.

I am responsible for ensuring that a high standard of care is maintained and delivered to residents whilst respecting privacy, dignity and choices.

Hi, my name is Kath and I am the Deputy Manager here at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home.

I started working for Barchester Healthcare in 2017 as an RGN and became a Senior Nurse in 2018. In January 2019 I was promoted to Deputy Manager. I support the General Manager and I offer guidance and support to our whole team in an effort to provide a happy, friendly and welcoming workplace.

My name is Janet and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Plas-Y-Dderwen. I am passionate about ensuring that Plas-Y-Dderwen is a fun and active place to live with plenty of activities going on for residents to participate in and enjoy. We have everything, from a film club and arts & crafts sessions to minibus trips out and visits from entertainers. We have something for all the family to enjoy to show that Plas-Y-Dderwen is a happy and welcoming environment.
