Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Jo & Julie

Activities Coordinators

Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

Pizza Afternoon

Residents and staff were treated to a pizza afternoon, eating their favourite pizza toppings and enjoying the atmosphere.

First Visits

Our first visitor in the indoor visiting suite before lockdown, enjoying the surroundings instead of being outside in the cold and rain.

Christmas Preparations

Residents took turns busy colouring our festive tablecloths ready for the big day.

Children in Need

A day of fun was had by residents and staff from by dressing up in pyjamas, cycling for the rickshaw challenge and eating cake all day.

Virtual Fireworks

Residents of Awel-Y-Mor enjoyed watching the virtual fireworks display on the big screen in the dining room whilst eating hotdogs, burgers and chips.

Wear it Pink

We celebrated 'Wear it Pink Day' by wearing pink and making pink treats to eat. We had lovely homemade waffles and a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit.

The atmosphere was happy with the smell of freshly made waffles and melted chocolate through the home. An enjoyable day was had by all.
